Can anyone confirm how much cache you can store for offline?

Just curious how much of an area can you store? Is it scalable for size? Say I wanted to store LOWI and 150km in every direction....or is it smaller? Those who have the game, please report back! Just trying to figure out which area I want to store and how big it will be.

Default was 8GB. I changed it to 100GB. Just out of interest to see how quickly that will fill up.

it goes by the amount of data/storage space you set in the options.

ahh cool. Thats good news. I have quite a bit of storage space available so I should be able to hit a vast area.

so how do you store the data? Is there an option to check to store it?  or is it automatically stored?

Looks like it automatically stores areas you are flying over.

I guess it is a rolling buffer. First Inn - First Out

so if I close the game down and open it back up, the same area is stored from previous cache?

Just curious on how it stores areas for offline play if my connection goes out. Still want the photoscenery area cached.

You can manually save areas of your choice in the settings, mania cache area. Shows you a pic of the world and you can select what area etc.... I bet that comes in handy for some people. You can pre download them too.

It's just force of habit I developed from using quick typing keyboard settings for the tools in Photoshop; it's a little quicker to type 22, 33, 44 etc than to hit two keys to type 20, 30, 40 etc, when you are adjusting the brushes for retouching work constantly.
