Where Are the Airports?

Featured Replies

Can absolutely confirm. On first launch I searched for my home airport and.. bummer, it was not found. Big deception. A few flights later it now shows up in the database, so it seems indeed to be an incomplete or missing indexing on first start.

Same for me, typed in ICAO and nothing... restarted MSFS and bingo search function working, simple solution if anyone has similar?

Yeah, it seems something needs to happen to cause the database to index or initialize. Until that happens it doesn't work. Glad most people manage to trigger that process (whatever it is) without noticing. It's a fresh product so we're going to have a number of these little eccentricities.

I just verified that it's working now as well.

So stop blaming your unfamiliarity with the sim on Microsoft.

Don't become a developer. You have no clue how the process works. As I've told you before, first impressions are worth a bundle to developers and it's the reason Asobo took on so many people in the alpha and beta process. Over 2 million people will be unfamiliar with the sim when they first get it. Making that process as painless as possible is absolutely a primary goal that I guarantee you they have. Why? Because it saves them money. Get it? Less people having issues means better reviews, better word of mouth, better social cred, less support calls, chats, e-mails and manpower. I can also guarantee you that Asobo is monitoring these very posts and recording every incident we're discussing. Your approach helps achieve NOTHING. We're also up to about a half-dozen people here (and several more on the other forums) who are reporting this issue and this issue has ZERO to do with familiarity. I knew how to go to Departure Airport and type an ICAO or a City and NOTHING came up. That is not familiarity. Get a clue.

Aopparently, judging by your other posts, you can't be bothered to rtfm.

Judging by your posts, you can't be bothered to think. Feel free to skip my posts. You'll be doing us both a favor.

Also, where is the link to this manual you suggest I didn't read?

You seem to be unable to handle the fact this is a completely new sim, on day 1 of its release. Ask for a refund. Problem solved.

Again, where is this manual you reference? I also am likely far more familiar with software releases than you are. I'm fully aware this is the early part of it's release. I'm here pointing out the bugs I ran into. You're here brown-nosing. I wonder which one of us provides more value. I have zero inclination to get a refund. As I've stated, this is an evolutionary product that is light years ahead of the competition and something Asobo and Microsoft should be extremely proud of. However, that does not make it flawless and developers care about rooting out the bugs to make their product the best it can be. They can't achieve that with blind zealotry.

OK - ENOUGH of this petty bickering. There is some good info in this thread but I WILL shut it down of you guys keep it up. No need to read twenty posts of "I'm right, no I'm right" And if you DO keep it up, some of you will take a little vacation from Avsim.

Thanx,

Vic

What about the extra airports? KUCA hasn't existed in 20 years.
