August 22, 20205 yr My ADHD is going into overdrive here... my biggest issue with London City airport was that we now have the ability to have runways follow the terrain and yet the ORBX City airport flattened out the default humps and bumps. I KNOW I am being pedantic, but my concern is that if features like this are not utilised, then what other features are not utilised? Whilst having had huge amounts of ORBX "stuffs" for FSX and XPlane, I am really nervous about triggering a purchase now for FS2020 and I was sooooo hyper when they announced they would be supporting the new sim from day 1. Currently, i just can't "go-buy" as i would have done previously with everything they released before and it's making me quite sad. PS have they got rid of the palm beach firetrucks in the sheds at London City airport yet? Regards Graham System specs... Those are quite significant (and rather obvious) omissions. Having said that, I could say the same to Asobo..... `I have a hunch that Asobo had originally intended to create these objects & therefore Orbx knew they could omit them - but then Asobo ran out of time.

Does anybody know, if I download and install ORBX Central, will it recognize the purchases that I did through the Marketplace? Thanks, Andrew. I bought from ORBX Central and in the marketplace the items are showing as not owned. So I don’t think there is integration between the two. I chose to go with ORBX central because it offers quite a bit more options around installation and repair methods. Thomas Derbyshire
August 22, 20205 yr It would be nice if Orbx addressed the issue of a Palm Beach airport Fire rescue tender being parked on London city airport.
August 22, 20205 yr From the discussions going on at the OrbX forums, the various addon airports still don't seem to work right in their core functions. There's talk about ground services not working, and procedures/approaches missing.

Orbx have included the 'just necessary' detail of London POI so they are recognisable from >2500'. For seven quid, its a bargain. And they included a plugin that will have the RAF scramble and escort you out of the area, should you dare to fly below 2500ft in the CTR. 😉

I hear you, but now we have a whole contingent of people with pitchforks out that Orbx flattened EGLC...And another contingent with pitchforks that Flightbeam's KDEN is too bumpy and should be flattened. lol So maybe let's cut these historically top notch scenery devs who have taken a chance on releasing day 1 products for a new sim with new tech a little slack while they figure out where, and how, to find the happy middle ground. 9 hours ago, Moria15 said: Currently, i just can't "go-buy" as i would have done previously with everything they released before and it's making me quite sad. Why not? Both Orbx and Flightbeam have proven that they're willing to adjust and update their products based on community feedback. They've shown this for years, and they demonstrated it again this week. What's the harm in buying, knowing that they will continue to be refined and improved as the SDK is further developed, as they gain more experience with the platform and as they receive more (hopefully constructive) feedback from the community? 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

This update added the approach procedures back to EGLC - you can even see it in my EGLC arrival video, but getting the default aircraft to follow them...that's a whole different problem that requires quite a bit of cajoling... turns out you have to activate the approach prior to reaching the fix that precedes the IAF... The procedures also exist at KTIW, but then they did before the update also... Haven't tried any approaches at KORS yet. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

The harm in buying is the same as the harm in preordering MSFS was. You give an incentive for releasing products in an unfinished and buggy state. Edited August 22, 20205 yr by Der Zeitgeist

I really don't disagree with your sentiment in general - voting with our wallets is really the only meaningful way to send a message to a business in a free market. However, with respect to MSFS, they had already decided to release it in an unfinished and buggy state before they started allowing pre-order. That said, I didn't pre-order. Not to send a message, just because...why? I could get hit by a bus and then would have wasted $120 of my heirs' inheritance, lol... And I think for years this community has complained about how long it took to release products...and they were still buggy...so the general sentiment in the community, and beyond, has been to release early and often...I think that ship sailed. However, Orbx has a proven track record of updating and improving their products. They earned my trust years ago, and again when they updated a vast number of their P3D products to v5 at no charge and rather quickly just three or four months ago. I don't hesitate to tell them when something needs to be fixed, but I don't have any need to 'teach them a lesson' or 'punish' them...they know what I want - I want access to a product that improves the base sim as soon as possible and I expect them to continually refine those products towards perfection over time. And I expect them to take responsibility when they goof. And they do. And did this time also. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

The real London City Airport runway has in fact nowhere near as many "humps and bumps" as are portrayed in the default MSFS version. Edited August 22, 20205 yr by Reader
