I am now a believer that it’s not all about FPS. It’s about a well balanced system i5-9600k @ 4.3 ; RTX 2060 Super ; 32gb RAM; Samsung NVME So, in your video, at 4:15, your framerate cuts in half, to ~15 fps (I noticed as low as 12 fps). This is exactly what I see with my 9600k (at 5Ghz) and RTX2700. So, I guess I'm confused about what you're showing here? Seems like despite having overhead available, as seen in your video (which looks the same as mine), you get CPU spikes that turn your sim into a slideshow just like they do mine... This is shown also in your Task Manager CPU chart, where all your threads go to 100% for a few seconds. Is this something you've just learned to ignore? Or when you talk about smooth, are you saying, except for that? On 8/28/2020 at 8:58 AM, w6kd said: No, you might want to re-read. I said *all* 10 cores were running at around 25% average, not that the average across the cores is 25%. There is no single core loaded up significantly more than the others. I'm curious, since I tested this on both an overclocked i7-9700k and my i5-9600k and both show exactly the same CPU spikes to 100%. Are you saying that you do not have these spikes? And when you say 10 cores, on a 10900, does that mean that you're running with HT off? Honestly, it doesn't surprise me that someone running the fastest, latest Intel CPU at 5.2ghz is not seeing CPU limits, but I would be surprised if you're not seeing the spikes in your CPU usage...your CPU just may be able to handle the spikes without stuttering. To be clear, the reason I'm pushing you on this is that *IF* you have found a solution to eliminate the CPU spikes, I think we'd all be very interested in how you did that. Indeed it does look like he's locked at 30 fps. Could be using half refresh in NCP - I did find that the spikes influenced my framerate less (though the stutters remained) when running at 60hz with adaptive half refresh with a FPS cap at 31 fps. Well done 👌 Are you also not seeing the CPU spikes? I have found that even if I turn terrain/object LOD WAY down, I still get the spikes - they're just faster. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

"Find the game's .exe (FlightSimulator.exe) in process lasso, right click on it, go to Priority class > Current and [disable "Windows dynamic thread priority boosts enabled (*)"] " I use Process Lasso for setting core affinities. I disabled ProBalance when i installed PL many month ago. They have a 'Current', and also an 'Always' I think it's called. The latter lets you make a permanent change that survives the next bootup. Does the Windows dynamic thread priority not have an 'Always' option? Not near the PC else would look myself. It didn't help for me, but...yes, if I let lasso start before launching the sim and make this change by default, the sim wouldn't even launch. If I made this setting change after the sim was running it was fine, but didn't change the CPU spikes at all. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

August 31, 20205 yr I still randomly get some longer stutters which can be quite annoying. Sometimes they are so long that the gpu fan even slows down because it's not working during the stutter. My CPU is now pretty old but not /that/ old to get it, so i still have faith it is something related to the early release 🙂 Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
August 31, 20205 yr Commercial Member I run this sim on my gaming laptop and no stutters. It runs butter smooth. At full HD I get about 80 FTS and 40 to 50 in big city like new york.
