September 3, 20205 yr I don't know about you, but since the first day of MSFS, I have been unhappy with the "washed out", overly bright color and tone of the ground below and the topography overall. I wonder how all of you have your color set in the sim. Today, I went from Deuteranopia to Deuteranopia High Contrast. Wow! What a difference for me on my computer/monitor. The ground looks so much more lifelike and more realistic to me. I can now look out of the cockpit and not have to move higher in the seat to see the color deepness. It seems to be more consistent too, that is, from all angles in the cockpit. Don't forget to Apply/Save your changes. Go to Accessibility in the General section, and then down to Main Color. If you have any suggestions that you feel work great for you, I'd like to hear about your setting as well....just to see if there's a better setting I may be missing. Stan
September 3, 20205 yr I also found that the color quality highly depends on the quality of ortho images for a particular location. In regions with high quality images the color can look great. When flying over those ortho images that badly needs color correction, the whole scenery is off the color too. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought those color settings were exclusively for the UI - not for the actual in-game experience. Did I miss something? (Not trying to be snarky - I just didn't think those settings would affect the 3D rendering functions) -Greg

September 3, 20205 yr Why would putting the view in deuteranopia high contrast be 'more realistic'? Surely that'd be emulating green/red colour blindness? Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I like it. Try it and see if you’re correct. What’s your suggestion, Chock? Because of satellite imagery, the roads are green anyway. Just trying to make the world way less bright.

September 3, 20205 yr I think the default lighting and brightness is the most realistic we’ve ever had in a sim. The world is bright. Sometimes you can’t see because of reflections and glares. Haven’t had an issue...
