I wonder how all of you have your color set in the sim. Today, I went from Deuteranopia to Deuteranopia High Contrast. Wow! What a difference for me on my computer/monitor. The ground looks so much more lifelike and more realistic to me. I can now look out of the cockpit and not have to move higher in the seat to see the color deepness. It seems to be more consistent too, that is, from all angles in the cockpit. Don't forget to Apply/Save your changes. Go to Accessibility in the General section, and then down to Main Color. If you have any suggestions that you feel work great for you, I'd like to hear about your setting as well....just to see if there's a better setting I may be missing. Those colours are for changing the UI menu appearance, not the in-sim colours. I changed options and did not see a difference in the sim. A good thing to do is run the Windows monitor calibration tool. Just type "calibrate" in the Windows Search box and select the Calibrate Color Display. It walks you through a few easy steps to correct gamma etc. GregH Intel Core i7 14700K / Palit RTX4070Ti Super OC / Corsair 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz / MSI Z790 M/board / Corsair NVMe 9500 read, 8500 write / Corsair PSU1200W / CH Products Yoke, Pedals & Quad; Airbus Side Stick, Airbus Quadrant / TrackIR, 32” 4K 144hz 1ms Monitor

September 3, 20205 yr Hi, In some situations, I find the sim way to bright as well. A simple brightness slider like we had it in P3D would be amazing. The washed out and overbright feeling strongly depends on the quality of the orthos. In places where yo have good quality images in Bing, the colours and lighting looks amazing. East of LOWI for example, the bing images do have a strange milky, light green touch which makes it look quite strange during daytime. I fly in this region in real life and I can asure you, its by far not as bright there. A sunglass function, as it was present in the Alpha would be a nice addition as well. Martin

September 3, 20205 yr Author I have to "walk something back" about my post. It seems my original complaint had to do with the fact that my Main Color was set up from the beginning 1st day as Deuteranopia. Why? It was set that way by me after seeing an MSFS tutorial by Squirrel I believe, where he went through the settings overall in the sim and he DID set it to Deuteranopia. He seemed to leave it that way as he went through the tutorial. So...that's the way I set it. It seems that that setting is INDEED too bright and that's why I complained. Setting it to high contrast eased up on the brightness for me. I am not color blind! Ha! Today, after reading all your comments, I went back to the Color setting and found there was a DEFAULT setting. Honestly, I did not even know there was a default setting. After setting the sim to default and saving it, I have to admit that I was wrong and the default setting seems to be the most realistic setting for the land below. So, thanks for pointing out that you thought the default setting was the best. That's why I love this forum...you always learn something. I should have toggled through all the settings before complaining. Thanks. Stan Edited September 3, 20205 yr by spilok

In my experience the Accessibility Graphic feature does not change my issues with the colors of the environment. So not a fix. It's also very weird to have overall graphics setting in two places. I'm having this issue with my laptop with a 4K monitor and RTX 2080 Super card. I do not have it with my desktop configuration. I'm hoping I can use an NVIDIA profile specifically for this game on my laptop to fix this. I have several other sims and games and do not have this issue. Seems like a bug to me.

Decades ago, a friend of mine and I were playing an old Atari 2600 game called Dragster. The best way to get a good run was to shift right at the red line. When the race started, he'd rev his engine and then just blow it up (over-rev). After about 4 times doing this as I'm flying down the track, I said, "Whatcha' doin? Why aren't you shifting when the Tach Tape goes from green to red?" He said "what are you talking about?" He never knew he had red/green color blindness until that moment. 😞 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
