  1. I am thinking now to either install AIG or buy FS Traffic from Justflight. I read about FS Traffic that it displays only a very low amount of airborne traffic enroute. How does AIG perform in that matter? Does it show a descent amount of traffic when you are in cruise? Kind regards
  2. Yes that works with Activesky.
  3. I think the C172 modeled in the sim is equipped with a Lyocoming IO360 (I stands for Injection). I fly a DR400 with a Lycoming O360 (the version with a carburator) in real life. The O360 can be operatet with full power in climb according to the POH of the aircraft (a slight RPM reduction on the constantspeed prop is necessary). The aircraft I mentioned is a club aircraft and is operatet all the time with full power until cruise altitude. We didn't have any problems to reach the engines TBO of 2000 hours, operating like that. I have no experience with the IO360 but I could imagine that it indeed can be operated at full power as well.
  4. Did you try another airport? Because I have a CTD, whenever I try to hit "fly" and have the A330 selected (for 2 days in a row now). So maybe its the plane, not the airport.
  5. The level of detail we get from some of the default aircraft is unbelievable. I was flying the A330 yesterday. It has absolute payware quality. It looks great, flies great, has good sounds and great systems. A big compliment to Inibuilds and the Flightsim Team. Just remember how awful default planes where in FSX times 😄 .
  6. I just crashed trough the bridge at EDDM in the A330 as well.
  7. I think the option would be already there. There are to tabs in the weather menu. "Live" on the left side of the menu and "Custom" on the right. However, in the "Custom" tab you can still select live weather like in FS2020. The problem is, that the live weather in the "Custom" menu is not really live but connected to the time you set. An easy solution would be: "Live" Tab: Live Weather connected to the time you set using historical data "Custom Tab": Really Live weather like it is right now, independent of the time you set. At the moment the two tabs are more or less redundant because both do the same.
  8. Unfortunately i can't edit the initial post anylonger 😞
  9. Thats what I mean. An option would be perfect 🙂 Historic weather On/Off or something like that.
  10. May I ask, do you plan flights with simbrief? If yes, how do you handle that most probably simbrief will give you wrong active runways and wrong winds aloft? As far as I am informed, simbrief does always use actual live weather?
  11. If you fly offline, it doesn't really matter (apart that all your simbrief plannings will be incorrect, if you don't really always set the real time for your flight). For VATSIM however it means that for someone like me, who mostly uses the sim in the evening after work, it will mean that you always have to fly in darkness or you are not allowed to fly on the network because you have to use live weather for VATSIM.
  12. If thats the solution, than they completely messed up what people wantet with historical weather I think. You should have the option to select historical weather separately from the time. Like this flying on VATSIM is completely impossible if you dont want to fly around in darkness all the time during the winter month.
  13. Unfortunately that doesnt help. That would mean that flying on VATSIM during daylight after work is now more or less impossible. What a mess.
  14. Hi, In FS2020 it was completely normal to set your time to whatever you want and still get live weather data. In FS2024 however, the weather always seems to fetch historical data of the time you set in the sim. I sit in Zurich at the moment. In real live it is snowing there. When I sync the sim time to the real time, the weather is correct. When I set the sim time to morning for example, the weather immideately changes to how it was in real life in Zurich in the morning, even though "Live Weather" is still selected. Is there any chance to get really live weather even though the time is set differently? Kind regard Martin
  15. Hi, In FS2020 you could check the METARs of the nearest airport by opening the weather menu of the in flight menu bar. In FS2024 this option seems to be gone. Did anyone figure out how to check a metar inflight, without using some external website? Kind regards Martin
  16. I tried the A330 yesterday and was as well positivly surprised by the flight dynamics. The takeoff roll in EDDM was super weird due to problems with the scenery (lots of bumps and strange terrain spikes, most propably due to streaming problems), but as soon as i was in the air, the 330 felt really heavy and believable and was a joy to handfly. Overall the whole plane ist great for a default aircraft. So I think FS2024 still needs some time but is going in the right direction. If they can ever fix their servers ;-)
  17. The banana can be activated, somewhere on the options page of the fms if i recall correctly.
  18. Ok, thanks. I will give it a try :-) Gesendet von meinem Nexus 10 mit Tapatalk
  19. Hi, Do you mean in the aircraft.cfg file? I only have a "autopilot available=1" in the [autopilot] section of the aircraft.cfg, but no useautopilot=1. Kind regards Martin
  20. Hi, Had the same problem a couple of days ago on the approach to EDDF. No chance to recover :-( Kind regards Martin
  21. Hi, @Pict: Is it common on the Q400 to rim the aircraft before you start your takeoff run? Kind regards Martin
  22. Hi, -Seasonal Textures -AI traffic like Ultimate Traffic for FSX (not limited to 20 aircraft) -More variation in Autogen (it would be cool if Europe would look different then the US for example) -Make big cities look more "plausible" -Mouswheel should be usable to rotate knobs (i just can't get used to the "pull function" to set up a VOR frequency for example) -Weather Addon like ActiveSky. But that's not X-Planes fault (let's go HIFI  ) Kind regards Martin
  23. Hi,Hopefully, they will lift the limit of 20 AI aircraft very soon.Big airports with just 20 AI aircraft will feel almost as empty, as without any Al aircraft.Missing AI aircraft in my opinion is one of the main reasons why X Plane 9 never got that much attention from the community. AI traffic really helps to generate a "I'm really at an airport feeling".Kind regardsMartin
  24. Hi,I don't want to put any oil in the fire of any MS Flightsim vs. X-plane battle, but I really have to say that all these FLIGHT screenshots also look quite dated in my opinion and are far away from what a modern game designed in the year 2011 should look. From some views it's really hard to tell a difference between FSX, or even FS9 and this FLIGHT screenshots, especially when it comes to clouds. The clouds really look like FS9.Another thing that worries me, is how Flight seems to display the ground textures in the distance. On some screenshots it seems like we can expect the same LOD/blurry fiasco that we have to face for almost a decade now (since the introduction of FS2002). I'm really afraid they are using the same oooold graphics engine again. When you compare the FLIGHT screenshots to the screenshots from, for example, Wings of Prey, Flight in my opinion looks extremely outdated. However, Ithat doesn't mean that I won't buy it(as well as I will buy X-Plane) .Kind regardsMartin
  25. Hi Bryan! I get the sound from FS over the headset when I set it as default audio device. As soon as I set my speakers back as default device, all the sounds go back to the speakers, including the FS2Crew voices. When I click on the speaker symbol in the Windows task bar to fiddle around with the audio volume, I have two differnt bars to set the volume. One of them is the USB headset volume. Everytime I increase or decrease the volume I can hear a ding in the headsets speakers. So it seems as windows is able to send sound threw the headset. Kind regardsMartin
