Nothing is going to happen overnight especially with a new platform like this. Patience is a virtue (shakes his head)... 🙄 I'm holding off on some of my own mods / scenery, because I don't know what this rumored "world update" will actually contain. I personally don't want to put a ton of effort in fixing some broken scenery if Asobo is working on this right now. I will, however, proceed with making my hometown airport, because I'm likely the only person in the world who cares about this particular airport, LOL. Oh, and I also went ahead and created a custom copilot who looks more like my wife than any of the default options:

Don't you think it's strange that the official Microsoft Flight Simulator forum has a pinned post by a moderator in the Helps & Guides section referencing sites that have addons that AVSIM considers pirated material? As I said before, I highly recommend overthinking AVSIM's stance on this matter, because it seems inconsistent, excessive and plain weird. Edited September 9, 20205 yr by Der Zeitgeist

Vic Hi Vic, just to clarify, as you guys also deleted a link from our Cruiselevel.de Release Radar, which entry on our site do you consider as piracy? Because the only one I know, which is 100% pirated, was the C-47, confirmed by Manfred Jahn. For the rest of our entries, I dont have any such information. Best, Tobias

She actually resembles my flight instructor from many years ago! She could fly an airplane through a keyhole; I was very, very fortunate to have such a cracker-jack pilot & competent instructor sitting to my right. Worse, it's not obvious to a newcomer just what the stance is and there doesn't seem to be a readily accessible rules page about it. Not that I could find scanning the obvious subfora, anyway. This is probably why there are so many people who think the rules don't allow folks to post any links It's not just links, though, there are a fair number of community "rules" that you need to pick up, which don't seem to be in any one obvious place so a newcomer can be comfortable with how to "behave" from day one, but which will get people hopping on their case right quick, and often with some hostility, if broken. I've been here for years and I'm used to it, but I can see how from the outside it must seem very opaque, arbitrary, and off-putting -- which is not healthy for the long-term growth of a community. Avsim, in other places, is a byword for overly strict, capricious, and unfriendly moderators -- which is definitely an unfair characterization, I know the folks here all mean the very best. But it's a genuine image problem of our own making, and potentially a site longevity problem as well. Edited September 9, 20205 yr by kaosfere
September 9, 20205 yr Case in point from a recent post at reddit, linked rather than inlined due to obscenity: https://i.imgur.com/UAo6yMh.png This one is particularly inflammatory in its nature, but it's definitely not far from the norm. Check the point total on that, that's massive. And if your response to that is just dismissive scoffing at reddit, as I've seen here plenty, you might want to think about whether you're part of the problem. Besides, it's not just reddit, you can find that elsewhere, too. We as a community are completely entitled to have our own rules, but we should be obvious about them and consider the effect they have upon others. Especially when we start wondering things like "why is all the development activity happening elsewhere?". Edited September 9, 20205 yr by kaosfere

Best, Tobias Hi Tobias - The linik to the F/A 18 "freeware" - That is an illegal port from FSX Accelleration. All the files say Copyright Microsoft corporation. It is NOT freeware. That's the problem. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Nope. Every site has it's own rules. I suspect no one bothered to tell the admins at the MS site that their own product was being pirated and posted on their site. IAC, what they do on their site is their business. AND as this thread is getting further into a discussion on piracy - it will be shut down.
