Yes the freeware market is blowing up with addons. Good times ahead !

Indeed. I am surprised how many airports are being enhanced or created as freeware. I love seeing all of the free work being done to include tons of Points of Interest, and the work on the Airbus 320 is beyond excellent plus there will be an updated freeware flight model for the Bonanza coming soon. . And... it has only been a couple of weeks since release.

MFS seems to have ignited people's passion for the hobby again. It's kind of back to basics, but with a much better base to work with and a bright future.

Whats a good place to find these addons ?

MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320,  Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

Some links to this new content would be appreciated. I've been out of the flight sim game for years. Thanks!

Over 1 million unique players and thus, over 1 million purchases of this game on PC so far.  This thing is snowballing.  What matters now is that it becomes a nice cash cow for Microsoft and if it does, there will be continued support for MSFS and after a few years, I think it will be the de facto civilian flight sim.

This is looking like the original IPhone release back in 2007.  Many Blackberry users back in 2007 were stubborn and plugged their ears, but the writing was on the wall on the eventual fate of the Blackberry.  I think MSFS will do to X-Plane and P3D, what the IPhone did to Blackberry.

Forum etiquette is to not link to any 3rd party website , even though I have done this myself , to the official forums. Per se it's not a good thing.

But if you just look through the forum titles  here you will get an idea of what to google to find some of this new stuff.

Great to see, hwoever, you guys have hit upon the problem....no organized way of finding this stuff.  Digging through reddit to find a link is far from ideal.  MSFSAddons is rather unorganized.

I hope not 😪 X-Plane has been around since 1995, weathered many storms and competition. Yes it will always be overshadowed by the giants like MSFS and no doubt people have left in droves for MSFM but I dont think it will go away. It is a passion of Austins and the Laminar team are great.

MSFS looks fantastic and when I get that new Ryzen 9 beast next year I will get it too as I look forward to the GA flying. However I'll always keep XP11 installed as my primary.

Guys, you can still post lots of relevant information on new releases without posting a link. For example - you could just post the filename of the addon - xyz.zip - people can search for it. Or possibly say t can be found on carenado.com but not create a link.

Just saying lots of new freeware without giving an example is not helpful.

The Avsim Library is the obvious place I thought.  But I guess not all new users /creators necessarily even know about Avsim.  Reddit is chaotic, but it's definitely where the MFS party is at.  There's  alot of fun reading there.

Doubt XP11 will not go away, actually I'm getting it right now.  Nice solid sim.  Also doubt P3D will go away as well, it certainly not as pretty but far more solid.  Love my Ryzen 9 by the way.
