FPS Increase vs. Highonsnow Glass Cockpit FPS boost?

Featured Replies

hey guys. does any one knows what's the difference between the "FPS Increase - Lower 2D instrument refresh rate"
https://www.nexusmods.com/microsoftflightsimulator/mods/34

and the "Highonsnow Glass Cockpit 15-19FPS boost on Airliners and 10-21FPS on GA Aircraft"?
https://www.nexusmods.com/microsoftflightsimulator/mods/109

when to use what (between the two)? on what use case?

i do suffer from low FPS on glass cockpit, but both claim to do the same and offered at the same site/section, so i am confused which one should I use, which one is better suited for what use case?

I'm just going to try each one separately and see what happens...

why dont you test it by yourself, its so easy

i tested both to be honest i ended up with similar FPS gains,

now i use one of them 😅

My feeling is highonsnow probably gives more improvement but it dosen't affect as many aircraft (doesn't cover the PL21 in the CJ for example). Also it's not as thorough on the A1000 as it is on the airliners.

Highonsnow should be better as it offers more granular solution for the performance optimization, this what I read in the official forums and also recommended by the guy who wrote the original optimization https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/small-js-config-file-mod-to-gain-10-15-fps-in-airliners-and-glass-cockpit-planes/221308

well, now that MS integrated this solution into the game's setting itself I guess there is no use for either of those options... Am i correct?

Correct, I deleted them and it runs much smoother than before.
