September 22, 20205 yr I wouldn't have gone intel this year, or in 2019, in 2018 yes, no doubt. Is that GPU a placeholder for something better? R5 3600 - GTX 1070OC - 32GB 3200 - NVME - 3440x1440 160Hz - VR(Quest 2) GarbagePoster™

September 22, 20205 yr Author OK guys. Listen up. I'll try to say this in terms that everyone can understand. First, I didn't make the original post to brag about my new rig. I made the post just as information to those who are thinking about what kind of performance can be expected from what kind of hardware. And, this is the important part, all of the "stuff" was part of a package deal - all or nothing. Leaving the 2060 out, the retail price of the other components is approximately USD$1540. So, I bought $1549 worth of "stuff" for $1100 and the 2060 was thrown in along with it. Now, that's not hard to understand is it? I never said this was the end-all rig and I well know that it isn't. But if all you armchair experts can find a better deal that what I just made I'd sure like to hear it. Sometimes price/performance matters - especially to those on limited budgets. And as far as all the "GPU limited" comments, my response is ...who cares? Do all of you wear a Rolex watch and, if not, can you still tell what time it is. Give me a break!!!!! Thanks Bob. Virtually all the flying I do is GA in the rural countryside. I avoid the metro/high traffic areas like the plague. That's how I always flew in RL and I'm too old to change now 🙂. September 22, 20205 yr I would be happy with that rig. I'm still sputtering along with my i5 6600k oc'd to 4.5GHz and a GTX 1070. Although I cannot download the sim since patch 2, I was tootling along ok at 1080p on Medium settings prior to. Nevertheless, it's a decent rig, especially to get it a that price. Rock on brotha! September 22, 20205 yr Could I build that exact system for cheaper? No. Could I build a system that outperforms that for cheaper? Yes, easily. I'm glad you got a deal, but holy cow relax. If you're going to post about a new system and get so easily offended when people make comments about it, then maybe the internet really isn't for you.

With all the settings on Ultra I could barely maintain 43 FPS flying around the San Francisco bay area. Oh, my aching eyes. I guess I'll have to change the all the settings to Low so I can get at least my 60Hz monitor refresh rate. That should make everything look much better.
