AI Pilot - Is still Broken

Featured Replies

Don't remember it being noted in the patch notes. So would not be surprised if it still is.

Yeah it wasn’t mentioned. In fact, it seems like it is even worse than from the 1.9.3.0 patch.

dont know why you was expecting it to be fix if it was not mentioned for this update .

Meanwhile, I have just done a number of nice flights with no issues (C172)

I hope they can get this fixed or release the code for others to work on. One of my favorite ways to relax is to sit back in first class and enjoy the scenery and let the AI pilot fly me somewhere. It's also an excellent way to familiarize with some of the more complex aircraft.

Can confirm it is worse in the latest patch. Sadly. All the more surprising is it worked fairly decently in the original release.

Roger that! I’ve been doin various tests all day and it is very much worse now than it was in the 1.9.3.0 patch. It worked just fine previous th that patch.

So, how do we report it ti Asobo?

File a ZenDesk ticket.  There is a pinned thread at the top of this forum.  Give them as much information as you can about what it does vs what you expect.  To file a robust bug report, it's best to test with no mods in the Community folder and state somewhere in your ticket that you did that, so they know it wasn't a mod-induced problem right away.

Yes mate it is and the approach at some airports is way off eg: my flight plan said I was to land at EGLL runway 27R ended up bringing me down on the taxi way at the side of Runway 27L, they need to concentrate on getting the flying aspects of the sim right first! otherwise it's gonna go the same way as FSX which they never fixed, in my opinion this sim is only FSX revamped anyway and the 747 is totally useless as it was in FSX, though I did buy some 3rd party aircraft for FSX and they flew correctly, so I don't know it's very frustrating.

What is AI pilot?

When you point your mouse to the top of the screen and activate the drop down menu, click on the pilot's head symbol. Selecting "Control Aircraft" will have a 'full autopilot effect" where the AI takes control of all the plane's functions from start to finish of the flight (or until you cancel the setting). Can also be activated at any time during the flight. You can then sit back and watch the flight without requiring any input (or sometimes watch the AI crash the plane on to the side of the runway somewhere!😉).
