I’ve been having some back and forth with customer support at RSG trying to figure out why they can support the default aircraft/gps but not an addon aircraft using the same default gps. She’s going to send my question over to their technical team to look at. I think she misunderstood my initial question to be more about third party GPS integration (ie rxp) rather than third party aircraft with a default GPS so maybe there will be something that comes of that. It didn't take me long to figure out how to get the Mooney to work with RSG. All it takes is a simple entry in the panel.cfg of the mooney to get it to work. After I made the entry, I took it for a flight, and all of the buttons work as they should. So this should be the same with any 3rd party aircraft that use the default GPS. Just add this to the panel.cfg: [Vcockpit08] size_mm=0,0 pixel_size=0,0 texture=$SpeedDisplay htmlgauge00=WasmInstrument/WasmInstrument.html?wasm_module=data/RSG_WASM_Connector.wasm&wasm_gauge=RSG_WASM_Connector, 0,0,0,0 That is the only thing you need to do to get it working. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
October 28, 20205 yr Fantastic, I had hoped it would be something straightforward like that! Thanks for digging into it, I’ll point RSG toward this thread. Time to go spend some money 🙂 Given that several of the default aircraft that use the GNS only use the 430 I’m leaning toward the bundle... Using it with the Carenado Mooney would have been the sole reason of me getting the RSG GNS530. If it's not compatible then it's an obvious no go for me. James

If it's not compatible then it's an obvious no go for me. You can use RSG with the Mooney. Unfortunately, the RSG installer will not modify 3rd party aircraft to work with their product. But I have found that all that is needed is to edit the panel.cfg of the Mooney and add this entry: [Vcockpit08] size_mm=0,0 pixel_size=0,0 texture=$SpeedDisplay htmlgauge00=WasmInstrument/WasmInstrument.html?wasm_module=data/RSG_WASM_Connector.wasm&wasm_gauge=RSG_WASM_Connector, 0,0,0,0 I tested it last night, and it is working perfectly. All of the buttons work, and the other pages can be selected with the knobs correctly. It is most likely just as easy to modify other 3rd party aircraft which use the default GNS's, but since I don't have any yet, I won't know for sure. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
October 29, 20205 yr I went ahead and purchased the 530/430 combo, should be here early next week. Thanks for your help! I feel like FSG owes you a small commission for figuring out the Mooney, which I was waiting on to make my purchase 😁 Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

October 30, 20205 yr Just to give everyone a quick update. MSFS update 5 seems to affect RealSimGear as well, most likey for those of us who are having CTD because of controller issues. I have the CTD's as well, and can get the sim to work using the temporary fix that is posted in this forum. I think it is also affecting the RSG as well. I can get around it by running the RSG installer again, and everything will work again, including the mooney. But as soon as I restart my computer. RSG doesn't work again. If I don't reboot, but exit the sim and later run the sim again, it still works. I will wait till Asobo releases the hotfix, which should be later today, then check it all out again. I'll keep you posted. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
October 31, 20205 yr Thanks for the info, my gear gets here Monday, so hopefully the hotfix will be out by then and have things working again! November 1, 20205 yr So I just tested the RSG with the Mooney after installing the hotfix. Long story short....just make sure you reboot your computer after installing the hotfix and you are good to go. The RealSimGear is working just fine with the Mooney using the panel.cfg edit that I posted. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6

A seperate question for those that used RSG with RealityXP in previous sims, did it work with all planes (even those that didn't have the 530)? James

Do the controls on the RSG GNS530 panel control the same controls of the default G1000 in sim or can it only control the knobs/etc. for the in sim GNS530 equipped planes? I tried copying the panel.cfg entry over to one of the G1000 equipped aircraft to test and the knobs don't seem to have any effect. I have noticed every time the sim is updated, I usually have to run the RealSimGear Installer to get everything working again. It only takes a few seconds, but works every time for me. @Phantoms you asked if, for those that used RSG with RealityXP in previous sims, did it work with all planes (even those that didn't have the 530)? In other sims like X-Plane11 and P3D, the RealSimGear will drive the radios on some aircraft, and not others. I'm not sure why. But it doesn't work with many aircraft, and it won't affect any of the G1000 aircraft. 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz i7-9700K RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6
