From those that are already running benchmarks, it looks like the AMD cards are competing step for step with the Nvidia cards. If AMD has a good launch, it may help availability of the nvidia cards if those are you preference. May even help keep the Nvidia prices down.

True. Competition is important here. Only good things can come from a good AMD launch. I just hope their drivers are solid for those that go that route.

well I may be one of the first to try 🙂  I have a 5950X and a potential promise of a Big Navi 6900 at the beginning of december, so yes.. I too hope they have their act together with drivers 🙂

The rest of the machine is a Asus ROG x570 motherboard and 32 gig corsair vengance DDR4 (AMD tuned)  4000 RAM and some M2 drives with a waterblock system..    so we shall see 🙂

The waiting is the hard part..  I know i will be able to get the 6800xt in a week or so (all being well,  I have been told so anyway) and that may just be the solution to balance performance v delay, in addition, the 6800xt is ready for watercooling, there are no details yet about 6900 watercooling 🙂

Kinda looking forward to stepping upto 4k ULTRA from the 1080 on medium that I have now.
