My system is an I7 10700 at 4.8ghz. 16GB 3200 ram. 2060 super with a 4K 28 inch monitor on a 1TB SSD.  Running in 4K it looks great but I really have to lower settings to get decent performance. I still get stutters though if it drops just below 30fps. I'm using HDMI right now with a 30hz refresh rate. The performance monitor shows I'm limited by GPU.  I understand that the RTX 3080 is great for 4K and am eagerly waiting for stock to replenish. If I drop resolution to 2650x1600 in game, I can crank up settings to ultra in it's smooth. The only thing is Anti aliasing doesn't work well at all  even if I use TAA. (Jagged lines in cockpit and scenery ) I'm looking for advice on if there's a way to smooth out the jagged lines in the lower resolution or do I need to purchase a different monitor while waiting for the 3080?. If I turn off vsync the frames go up but it's very choppy. For some reason my monitor won't turn on with display port so I can't try at 60hz. For now I just want the AA to work correctly.

I would recommend not to use a lower screen resolution but lower rendering settings. Try 70 or 65. So the UI and even the external view gauges stay full 4k but the game is rendering at a lower resolution.

I change my monitor settings between HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0. This allows me to use 30Hz or 60Hz. I don't use display port.

Do I need to change the connection on the monitor to get HDMI 2.0?

I saw that a while back. I don't use every setting on ultra that doesn't make a visual difference.

Does your monitor support HDMI 2.0 ?

Also what temps is your 2060 getting to ? They throttle as you approach 84 degrees. Some people undervolt them.

Take note I think you need HDMI 2.0 capable cable also - a 4K TV is way more forgiving than a 4k pc monitor - 4k tv is a beautiful picture without having to slam the AA settings its awesome

Those temps are fine.

In terms of the 3080 be aware there is a "super" version rumoured for Q1 2021  with twice the ram if you can hold out that long.

Thanks everyone. There's no way to get rid of the jagged lines with a lower resolution? I read something that about changing the image sharpening but forgot where I read it.

Just checked. HDMI 2.0 is not supported on my monitor.
