October 17, 20205 yr In the world of live service games, it is perfectly ok to provide constructive feedback and communicate with the developers. That's how these things work. We can help set the priority for things as they get done. That's a good thing. What I wish people would remember is "preaching to the choir". There's no need for the high emotion on things here, send your feedback to the developers. Too many people fall into the mentality that "if I'm not negative all the time, I'm "accepting it"". Again... shouting at the choir about those that don't show up to church on Sunday. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
October 17, 20205 yr I saw no mention of MSFS in the post on the P3D forum so why the uproar. It wasn't even posted here. Oh well another day on AVSIM I guess. Sean Green
October 17, 20205 yr Indeed, yet another day. Enough of repeating the same old stuff, over & over.. providing constructive feedback and communicate with the developer on Avsim? Seriously?? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

October 17, 20205 yr April 14, 2020? Remember that day? That day and the ensuing weeks are stuck firmly in my mind. If anger and venom was worth anything we would all be rich! Yep April 14th was the day P3D released v5. I was expecting exactly the same response over MSFS! And guess what? I wasn't disapointed! October 17, 20205 yr As bad as X Plane graphics engine is under the hood, P3d is actually considerably worse, a total POS. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer
October 17, 20205 yr 4 hours ago, psolk said: I just don't understand the hypocrisy and double standards Part of the problem is that most of the issues with preceding sims based on the ESP platform were just not as bad as they are with MSFS. The main issue with FSX when it was released was - and to some extent still is - that it pushed CPU-dependency to the ragged edge, so it was a few years until people had the hardware that could cope with it, and even then this takes them up to the other ragged edge that is VAS. So there was not much really 'wrong' with the software, it was more about the hardware requirements. The default aeroplanes in FSX and in P3D might not be stunning, but they are reasonably accurate in terms of flight envelope performance. In fact, many of the 'default' aeroplanes in P3D were at one point payware aeroplanes, and since the current version of FSX (Steam) is what was originally FSX plus the payware Acceleration add-on, that is true for FSX-SE as well. Same with P3D really where the performance issues are. To be perfectly honest I think most of the problems of this ilk are often down to the fact that people would simply refuse to accept they need to move some sliders to the left a bit. I have no problem doing that and FSX and P3D have been largely problem free for me. I know it is frustrating to accept that when your PC can run all kinds of games and sims on max settings, you still have to drop them for a flight sim that doesn't exactly have cutting edge visuals, but there it is, and not doing this is where most of the issues lie with FSX and P3D, not the actual software itself, which runs fine. In short, it is a user problem and one which the user can solve. Ironically it is the other way around with MSFS: It looks fab and runs great on a modestly-endowed PC, but it has, or has had, software issues which are not correctable by the users (avionics conking out, bonkers autopilots, weather sometimes being a bit iffy, strange flight modeling or engine behavior, etc). So yes, there are complaints, but I don't think it is hypocritical comparing the source of these complaints to FSX and P3D, because for all their faults, from day one they were to a very large extent perfectly usable in terms of their features if one was prepared to back the sliders off. This is not the same issue with MSFS. Now with all that said, I accept that whether if like me you paid 130 quid for the super-deluxe love-you-long-time version of MSFS, or you coughed up 60 Sovs for the standard version, or even if you paid four quid for a Gamepass subscription, you've still got a right to expect what you paid for. But for the most part we do have that, particularly given the mitigating circumstances of it all being banged out during (barring perhaps WW2) the most bizarre and tumultuous year in living memory. Don't get me wrong, I want what I paid for, which is only reasonable. But I know I will get it and in the meantime, apart from when Asobo bang out a stupid patch which busts stuff such as the avionics, I'm prepared to cut them some slack given the pressure they were under to knock the thing out whilst the zombie apocalypse was going on outside the door. So, for somewhat different reasons than yourself, I'm with you on not being too critical of Asobo. In the meantime, it is not as if we don't have DCS, P3D, FSX, AeroFly FS, XPlane, FS2004, Condor 1+2 etc to play around with as well as MSFS if we want some flying action. And of course all the other things you can play with on your computer, for example, I'm currently enjoying playing a really evil Imperial Agent on Star Wars the Old Republic, which is a lot more fun than sobbing into my hat about some minor issues on a toy aeroplane game which i know will get fixed.
