How To Fly the Working Title CJ4

I don't fly this jet a whole lot...but do you guys think it's capable on vatsim or Pilot Edge?  Or is that still not really possible with the avionics?  The Longitude, which I prefer because it looks cooler and is faster, is basically a screenshot aircraft lol... the navigation is worthless online.

Extremely ready for VATSIM ! If you haven't flown this since the v 0.5.0 working title update, you are missing out on avionics updates putting Carenado payware to shame.

PSA: Some people have found that having yoke or rudder assists on was bugging their autopilot. Maybe check this as well? I don't use either of those assists, so not sure, but a few people on our discord have reported that fixed their autopilot woes...

The A/P won't stay on for more than a couple seconds and all assists are set to OFF.  Was told to increase dead zones is that same issue or different?  Thanks!

If you're having the weird AP disconnects, spinning into a crash, etc. definitely check deadzones on all your axis inputs.  It seems to be a new issue since the last sim update (or at least it made it worse if it wasn't already there).  I've seen a number of posts about this being an issue recently.

Did some testing and found the culprit! It is the elevator or nose up trim (needs back/aft pressure on the yoke) and can not seem to correct it without pulling back on the yoke to keep the A/P engaged. The second I let it go back to center the A/P clicks off. Added dead zones to all the Axis and still persists. Have also noticed need full nose up trim generally to fly.  See this on both the CJ4 and TBM with only the WT mods in the community folder nothing else.

Any idea(s) ?

And he has 400 hrs in the type... if I remember correctly... not a knock on him, I have 0 hours in anything, I appreciate the effort.

I think it was rushed due to demand.
Issues like the sound cutting out shows this.

Maybe next time they’ll do it more calmly and with a separate video for each phase of flight.

Yes it was... I don’t even use this mod and I watched it all... my favorite thing about videos from real pilots is when they clarify things like, “...yeah we never used that... or, “...we always left that on...” or, “...rich people want to fly fast...” it’s those little asides that keep me watching!

Exactly. And little things like when to turn the lights (wich is always a debate, when should Nav light come on, etc..), when to turn the pitot heat.

Also, i didnt count how many times he said "we'll do that in the future", but boy, they have a lot of work ahead of them 🙂

True but still considering it’s a default from what I saw in the video it’s well on its way to really being something.

MSF20 has four Zibo like mods going (C152, G36, CJ4, A320X), that I know of, got to love that!

Almost makes me regret getting the premium deluxe package... seems all the fun so far can be had with the standard edition.

Maybe not Zibo like (the G36 is probably the closest to that) but extremely good.

I have all of them except the A32NX (poor fps), and i nearly exclusively fly the CJ4, and the Turbo36.

I think the planes of the deluxe version were the one that werent good enough for the standard one 🙂

Yeah I did not mean just like the Zibo, but in that it’s a default aircraft being modified as much as possible for free...

I used to fly only the TBM, but the G36 mod By Rob Young made that my go to.

l just downloaded this CJ4 mod to give it a try.

In P3D I flew mostly tube liners 30/70% Aerosoft A320 and PMDG 737, but MSF2020 has turned me on to GA flying... I suppose because at 30,000 ft the visuals didn’t matter as much, but it’s great at 6,500 ft now.

Well, part of that is because planes like the 787 and Longitude are still ridiculously buggy/broken.  Visually in the bizjets I prefer the Longitude with the nice big Garmin (or whatever they are in that one) screens, but it has issues.  The 787 well that thing is just a mess.  Less of a mess than a patch or two ago, but still a mess.

It is a beauty - but The rocket like thrust kills believability.

I hope Asobo does improve the flight dynamics of the encrypted aircraft or at least open them to the community of modders to do their thing.
