How To Fly the Working Title CJ4

Have an older CH yoke and pedals, and I am sure it needs to be cleaned (or more). Do not get any twitching, however the right pedal looks depressed a bit when viewing down. At slow speed rudder works ok, but gets totally wild after about 20kts.  Unfortunately the new Honeycomb replacement arrived DOA 😞

It's rudder controls that screw things up:)   if the pedal is depressed.. make sure you have a dead zone which is greater than the pedal being down or it will be giving false input 🙂

Will give it a shot again thanks. Had tried this before, not great result. Maybe need more dead zone.

good luck.. I was having terrible trouble with the A/P disconnecting and diving to the left on releasing the A/P and it was all down to rudder settings 🙂

Amazing have the same issue - A/P clicks off almost immediately after engaged. Constantly. Did you figure out what caused that specifically?

Yeah.. my rudder conflicts were competing with the A/P and most of the time, the sudden rudder change was enough of a kick to disengage the A/P.

Unreal. Will remove the rudder and re-configure. Thanks!

If you're having the weird AP disconnects, spinning into a crash, etc. definitely check deadzones on all your axis inputs.  It seems to be a new issue since the last sim update (or at least it made it worse if it wasn't already there).  I've seen a number of posts about this being an issue recently.

I have an old CH rudder pedals and I have to (forcefully) jam it full right rudder several times against the stop to get it to center properly.  I also do once or twice full left for good measure too.  I don't know if it's something wrong with the pedals or just a brute force "calibration" technique.   If I don't do that rudder in the sim will be to the right of center when pedals are centered.

Cushion ... buy some cushions.

Its what we real world vertically challenged pilots need to do when seat height adjustment is insufficient or just unavailable.

(it is either that or sideslip your landings like you would from the rear seat of an open cockpit biplane to see the runway on final 😄   )

Adding cushions may of course then mean you are unable to reach the pedals and need to get something like this:

Cessna just needs to design better planes.. I dont think they know what they are doing. lol

Its one of the reasons I love the Caravan,, the visibility is amazing.

Thanks and yes it only started since the latest update. Basically A/P will not stay engaged (YD does however). Can see the input selects on the scoreboard, just the A/P kicks off every time.

Checked the deadzones, and adjusted some for no good reason apart from this, same issue. Really frustrating!

Isnt the Caravan a Cessna tho? 😄

Fantastic video, this is how a tutorial video is done, not this cinematic word not allowed you often see on youtube, with quick cuts that are trying to hide incompetence. Learned a lot. Probably needs to be watched more than once to get all the nuances of the systems.
