October 27, 20205 yr Author @Bert Pieke I just completed restoring the plane's folder (only). Checked the MVAMS to make sure it is the Default WX, save the defaults, went to the Addon Menu, Restore RXP's back up file, and now the default gauges also don't work. To answer your question, yes we can do phone or Zoom. I have a prior email from you which I believe I have you phone number. Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).
October 27, 20205 yr Author I just sent you email with my phone number. Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).
October 27, 20205 yr 19 minutes ago, Bert Pieke said: Whoooo stop... we are not using the RXP config app here. Unless you want to take over.. You are right this could add the already confused situation. I was just wondering why is the panel.cfg file not changing after using the tool and whether this was just user error, bug, or something as simple as wrongly set user access rights to the folder preventing applications from modifying the panel.cfg file.
October 27, 20205 yr Author @RXP Thank you for the reply. I think it is user error. I'm afraid it might have been a mistake on my part. I found out that my assumptions were wrong about how to properly use the GNS app from Bert who was kind enough to chat with me over the phone. My assumption was that installing the RXP gauges for this specific plane, the Milvix C310 Redux, was a two step process. First, use Milviz's MVAM app to specify or prepare the correct panel for the RXP gauges for the plane. Secondly, to activate the RXP panel by specifying it again in P3D's Add-ons menu --> RealityXP GNS --> Setup Aircraft. What confused me about the 2nd step is that the Setup Aircraft submenu for the Reality XP GNS gauges, gave a choice for replacing the existing default gauges. Based on reading that, I assumed that I have to use the RXP menu in order to replace the default gauges. If I understood Bert correctly, the second step is not necessary since the plane already has the MVAM app to install the RXP gauges. I'm still working to re-install the RXP gauges again to replace the currently working default Milviz GNS 530/430 which I was fortunately able to restore from an image backup (using Window's Restore functionality didn't work). Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).
October 27, 20205 yr Author @Bert Pieke, Bert, thank you for chatting with me on the phone earlier. I have the default (original) Milviz 530/430 gauges working again. Attached is the panel.cfg for them. Looking forward to your instructions on what to do next to install the RXP gauges. ==============WORKING DEFAULT GAUGES================= Spoiler // This Panel.cfg file created by FS Panel Studio panel October 28, 20205 yr Author @Bert Pieke. Bert, following your instructions not to touch the Add-ons menu apps, the RXP gauges are working again. Yaaayyy... Thank you very much for your time. What an excellent tip about not touching the Add-ons menu. I will keep that advise in mind when installing the GTN gauges the next time I install a plane (eg. FSW's F50 and Just Flight's PA-28R). Much appreciated. I feel like asking for your autograph! 🙂 Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. October 28, 20205 yr Author @Bert Pieke Bert, I'm working on installing the RXP GNS on the laptop now. This is how it all started (see the 1st post in this message thread). I can not get the RXP GNS 430 to show up on the panel. All I get is a black screen. On the other hand, the RXP GNS 530 is working fine. I'm running this on FSX STEAM, and I installed both gauges on the C310 using MVAMS only. The laptop is an Asus W10, with a discrete NVIDIA GPU with dedicated 4GB memory, i7 CPU and 8 GB of RAM. Can you please take a look at the attached files from the log, panel.cfg and the RXP_GNS.ini file. Would you know why the the RXP RNS 430 is not working whereas the 530 works fine by looking at the following appended files ie. log, panel cfg, and the RXP_GNS.ini file? Thank you. =================rxpGNS2.gau.log======================= 20/10/28 04:49:46.525 09484 - ] # rxpGNS2.dll version 2.4.17.1 20/10/28 04:49:46.524 09484 INFO ] ============PANEL.CFG on C310 and FSX STEAM============ Spoiler [GNS_430_1] ; is the master device if true. It appears you inadvertently posted the .ini file twice and did not post the panel.cfg contents. Question again on the 430. What installation file are you using for the installation? And are you installing into the default location during the installation process? The GNS 530 gauge is working, yes. So back to the original question: Has the GNS 430 gauge been installed?? Edited October 28, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

I have not done that previously but I'm guessing it will highlight or differentiate the text and make it more readable. Thank you for the tip. Addendum: I tried your suggestion in a subsequent post to this email thread. And if it is working right, it is much, much better using your suggestion than not. The code block (a term used in one of the programming languages in a prior life) is more readable in my opinion especially with regards to long-ish inserted text. Thank you again! I installed the RXP gauges last year but this is the first time I'm using them on FSX Steam. How do I tell if the GNS 430 was actually installed. It's a really good question because my primary concern right after the purchase was that the DRM worked ok on the desktop.
