UCRTBase.dll CTD with P3DV5.1 SODE 1.7.1 and AIGAIM

Featured Replies

Good morning together!

I, and a other users as well (several different named topics here on AVSIM AND LM), do have CTD when using the new P3D V5.1 Sim in combination with SODE Version 1.7.1 and  AIGAIM. If Stock AI is also having issues I can´t say. did not test it.

It is reproduceable most likely at medium airports, but for sure at bigger hubs like EDDF, EDDL and bigger.

I started using P3D V5.1 with a Stock F22 with no issues at all. Not a single CTD. As I did turned on AIGAIM traffic sometimes the sim would CTD with the UCRTBase.dll error in my eventlog. I started further investigations to find the cause.

But strange was it CTD not every single time. I than found out that at bigger hubs the issue came for sure when using AIGAIM. At smaller and very small airports not for sure or not at all. First I thought it was AIGAIM and reported it on their forum. KAiii did mention their are no further CTD reports with P3D V5.1 related to AIGAIM. BUT 1 other user had the same issue as I did at EDDL.

How to reproduce:

Load the sim at a big hub. EDDF did work always for me

Turn on AIGAIM Traffic, as they use SODE jetways

Start a flight with a stock plane like F22 with traffic sliders turned off. Their MUST not be a CTD as NO traffic is active. I turned the AircraftTraffic.BGL off. So no stock AI at all.

Turn on all AI traffic sliders to 100%. Probably within the next 2 to 5 minutes a CTD occurs.

As the CTD only occurs at airports with AIGAIM traffic i decided to turn SODE Jetways off by deactivating it via the SODE menu and unregistered it to.

Now start P3D V5.1 again

100% AI traffic with AIGAIM

Wait a couple of minutes, taxi around, and no CTD at all.

Turn SODE on again...same scenario....CTD UCRTBase.dll.

So it seems most likely that there is a issues with SODE/GSX Jetways in combi with AIGAIM (I don´t own other AI traffic).

I would like to get some support and am happy to provide you with further information or tests. As an work around SODE stays off. But that is not my preferred way to use the sim.

I am not able to post this on SODE Support forum because I am getting an acces denied message allthough I never posted overthere before. Maybe someone else can post "this" there? That would be appreciated

Thanks a lot and happy flying!

Very important thread! Looking at other forums, many users suffer from the same problem at the moment. But it's only the combination of AIG AI traffic and Sode. No CTD with Sode without AI traffic...

Thank you Marcus. Indeed most of my flights ( 5.1) end now with the UCRTBase.dll error.

Can you explain how Aigaim uses Sode. I never see any jetways connect to my AI planes..

I will disconnect sode now and see what happens.

Hi Dick. Your welcome. But I really don´t know how they use sode.....from a technical point of view.

But guys, please report also at AIGAIM because this seems really related to SODE AND AIGAIM. Where the issue really exists...I don´t know. I think both DEVS should look at it.

@Kaiii3 Could you please take notice of this and contact SODE too?

TANKS a lot....and please to all over here..post at SODE too. That´s important so that they see the problem is not only on 1 end.....

Are you guys getting this CTD with Vatsim traffic using the sode jetways also?  I haven't installed 5.1 yet.  But that is important for me to know

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

AIGAIM/OCI is not using SODE in anyway, it is even not installed by AIGAIM/OCI. OCI Aircrafts do support SODE jetway docking for AI, because the parameters are set to work with the jetways.

So my guess here is: SODE and/or GSX2 are causing this in combination with AI docking - no clue why and how.

For testing do the following: Disable AI docking in SODE and GSX (if possbile) and try again

GSX doesn't have a separate setting to disable AI, it will just use the SODE setting.

And, if the scenery uses standard SODE jetways, GSX is not involved in any way in relationship to AI docking to jetways. It is only if the jetways have been placed with GSX.

I am not using Vatsim. I have now deactivated/deregistered sode and will park my aircraft (and use gsx) at remote parking spots ( without any type of gates) and continue to use Aigaim.. ( cannot fly without it  )

Will let you know what happens.

ok, then i would guess it is SODE related

Hi, it's the SODE developer.

I'll have again a deeper look at it next week, I haven't been able to reproduce the crash so far.

Just to rule out some error in the basic SODE logic: Could you just turn off the AI TRAFFIC detection part of SODE via its settings (SODEPlatformManager.exe -> Tools -> Settings)? Still getting the crash?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeffrey,

it´s the simmer who has ucrtbase.dll crashes as long as I let SODe do it´s Job 😉  Just joking.

Yes, of course I will try it out. In fact, I am starting up P3D now to check.

I report in a few minutes!

Regards Marcus

EDIT After first 10 Minutes testing:

No CTD so far. I will let it run another 5 minutes. Normally I already have had a CTD after 2 to 5 minutes.

So it ran 18 minutes without CTD.

Traffic sliders all up to maximum. Lots of AI in sim

In SODE I did set the "Enable AI traffic Detection" to FALSE and no CTD after 20 Minutes testing.

I hope it does help!

Regards and thanks for your Support!

Can confirm the same, with AI detection I get the ucrtbase.dll crash within a couple of seconds to minutes, without it I tested sucessfully for over 10 minutes.

The same time i get the crash, the following shows up in SODE log:

[18:03:21.507] FATAL SODE.WATCHDOG : Sim Process running test failed!
[18:03:21.521] DEBUG SODE.FSPROCESS : Cleaning up Memory...
[18:03:21.539] DEBUG SODE.FSPROCESS : Removing Top-Menu structure...
[18:03:21.540] DEBUG SODE.FSPROCESS : Closing Connection to FS.
[18:03:21.645] INFO  : Terminate SODE.

No entry for about 10 seconds before the crash

Thanks for your tests.

What if you went to some „non-SODE jetway“ airport and leave the detection setting on and AI traffic on?

This test will reveal if the AI collection within SODE triggers the crash or the activation of the SODE jetways.

Glad you guys are picking up this issue.

My experiences are somewhat different. My UCRTBase.dll mainly occurs on the ground during pushback.

My AI detection has been off (=false) all the time.

Have the following (100% repeatable) scenario : go with Pmdg 737 of FSL bus to Flytampa EKCH gate 14. Let GSX board the aircraft and request pushback. ( The boarding bridge connects and disconnects) The first (straight) part of the pushback goes fine but once the (right)turn starts I have the UCRTBase.dll error. I have the same problem also at e.g FlyTampa Klas and AS EDDF. Strangely enough at FSDT KORD things went fine. I tried the same with AIGAIM XML disabled. Same error occurs. I tried the same thing at FT/EKCH A14 also without GSX boarding ( so the SODE jetway was not employed) and the pushback went without error

If I try EKCH A30 (which is a remote stand with no finger) everything is fine.

When I use the FT option menu to switch from SODE to standard jetway the pushback is also fine.

If I can do some more testing please let me know.

Thank you all for your help !

edit :  and yes.. I am on 5.1
