November 12, 200619 yr sorry this seems like hardware, but it holds the software :)Maybe I'm the only one, but I really don't like the FSX case design. The long spindle to hold 2 DVDs. Getting the bottom one out required a lot of flexion. The multi-disk movie DVDs I get usually have something like a swing-out holder, so there is only 1 DVD per spindlle. Some of these spindles are also good at releasing the disk. This is the hardest to remove (for me) DVD since the MS Office 2003 one. that had only 1 DVD but it was so tight it took about 15 minutes to get off the spindle by rotating and gently rocking it.IMHO MS needs to do some work on this.scott s..
November 12, 200619 yr Have you tried pressing down(pretty hard) with your thumb(or maybe even your thumbnail) in the center of the spindle with one hand, while pulling the DVD's over the top of the spindle with your other(second) hand? You pull up on it with your second hand by grasping it's outer edges with that second hand. I can get them out with no problem, although I do have to press fairly hard very near the center of the spindle with my thumb.I do not ever just try and pull the DVD's over the top of the spindle without applying some pressure to the top and center of the spindle, which causes the split spindle to compress inwards. I also do the same when putting them back in, although it seems less pressure is needed when putting them back in due to the very top of the spindle being slightly rounded.Hope that helps,Jim
November 12, 200619 yr IMO ALL DVD holders of this press and release type are not good. I have even cracked a DVD even after depressing the center trying the release the disk. Best,Randy J. Smith<<>> Randy J Smith
November 12, 200619 yr Yes, I agree, the packaging is poor and can lead to damaging the DVD's. I have stored the DVD's in my own DVD holder, and will not use the original package for storage.Ron Ron Service .

November 12, 200619 yr Agreed..., but it's not like you have to remove it every time you run it.I've taken my disc out once, to install it, since I bought it. Been back in the box ever since...
November 12, 200619 yr Commercial Member hahaha...they could send me the discs wrapped in a piece of paper with some tape, I couldn't care less as long as they worked. Use once, back in the envelope, onto the shelf, enjoy sim. Mike Johnson - Lotus Simulations

I got mine in paper sleeves fastened together with a high-tech rubber band cleverly stretched across two diagonal corners, and delivered by DHL in a plain brown shipping envelope... ;)(Note: these were the "RTM DVDs" sent to beta testers as a reward for all our hard work...) :-bigangel Fr. November 13, 200619 yr The BEST game software packaging (inside and out) I have ever seen so far has to be for an X-Box 360 game called "Viva Pinada". They should be hired for the next MSFS packaging!
