October 31, 20205 yr What about not using EA? are we able to enable all shadows cast/receive options vegetation particles terrain buildings. all without a performance drop. ide love to have them all enabled as it eliminates the shimmering and jaggies on my 50 inch 4k but Some shadows also look horrible enabled. has it been fixed with 5.1? thanks mike

I am assuming you have options on shadows enabled? and there are no anomalies on shadows? I believe it was the casting of terrain or vegetation shadows that looked horrible, or perhaps buildings? cant remember. I’ll have to double check. thanks mike
October 31, 20205 yr Cheers... I do not usually update immediately after a patch or new version of the software is released, which I apply for the simulator. Reading about the P3D update, LM says "EA is now not a BETA", but since I haven't seen any screenshot of the interface updated to V5.1, I must ask: Is there an option to disable EA ???

October 31, 20205 yr Commercial Member Before the update I was always flying without EA as it was in "beta". I just never really thought about using it as I had settings the way I liked them. Now with 5.1 I think I could fly with EA during the day and then just shut it off fo dawn/dusk/night flights. I might try that for a while see if it grows on me. I do not agree, performance is worse, more stutters and lower frame rates, i did a comparison true earth Netherlands back to back on a i9 10900kf and in p3dv5.1 it cost me a lot of frames and caused a lot of stutters where in v5hf2 it was stutter free with 30-40 frames more

However, in EA mode I can use more detail with higher fps and it is much smoother. My guess is that something went wrong when you installed V5.1. Perhaps you should try again. Your cpu is very good. Don’t know about your gpu. I use Prosim as my ac and its official compatible with V5.1. Here I use a 2080Ti for 2x 4K with NVsurround (server) and a 2080 for 1x 4K (client)... V5.1 really is a step up in performance compared to V5.0 HF2.
