TrueSky tests with modified settings

GSalden,

I really enjoyed the cloud settings for EA.  Works great. Now, if you  can make the cockpits lighten up a little, that would be great.  When EA is on, cockpits darken.  When EA is off, cockpits have much better lighting.

You seem to be pretty competent on making things better.  Great job.

Stan

Hi Stan,

Tomorrow I will test with EnvShade to see which of the tweaks work with EA on and if I can brighten the cockpit but I am not sure ...

regards, Gerard

Do the changes to the cloud configuration mentioned affect performance at all?

Ian

I did not take a look at that as with V5.1 + EA enabled I have more FPS than with V5.0 HF2.

Everyone using EnvShade S

- terrain saturation (1.10)

- scenery brightness (objects - 1.10)

- water saturation (0.50)

Do work with EA enabled. My settings shown.

Goedemorgen Gerard. I assume all settings NOT related to the sky will work right? Shaders related to atmosphere probably not.

That is good to know!

Thanks for sharing and happy flights!

Very good. That means that AS, like FSGRW will now show the same as default Uimited visibility 👍

Let´s hope so. That would  I expect, yes.

But somehow I hope they manage to "form" nicer clouds, especially in overcast condition. I am interested to see if they managed some "better" settings/cloud formations!

I will report!

Summary to get the best EA experience at this moment :

- FSGRW : Max Visibility 300

- Deactivate Dynamics Reflexions for getting rid of pixelated edges with EA

- Use the following settings in the VolumetricClouds.cfg for sharper clouds and a less obvious grid from above the clouds :

Cumulus + Cumulonimbus:

worley noise : 0.9 —> 0.6

worley scale : 4.0 —> 5.0

erge sharpness : 0.9 —> 2.7

Cirrus :

churn : 0.0 —> 0.2

At this moment Active Sky is being beta tested so I presume that they will release an update soon (probably after the V5.1 HF).

This is  Just to thank you, your tips made  my flights with P3Dv5.1, much more enjoyable. I have now returned to AS, now that it's compatible to v5.1

Thank you for these tweaks, appreciated.
Works great on clouds.

But sadly "Deactivate Dynamics Reflexions for getting rid of pixelated edges with EA" doesn't work, I even deactivated water reflections and dynamic lighting. pixelated edges are still there.

TrueSky consists of a grid where clouds are attached on. What you see is normal.

If I am correct you will never fly this way so you will never see this ...

This is how EA currently is.

If you only use the VC you will not notice it as it is right below your aircraft,
