November 3, 20205 yr Summary to get the best EA experience at this moment : - FSGRW : Max Visibility 300 - Deactivate Dynamics Reflexions for getting rid of pixelated edges with EA - Use the following settings in the VolumetricClouds.cfg for sharper clouds and a less obvious grid from above the clouds : Cumulus + Cumulonimbus: worley noise : 0.9 —> 0.6 worley scale : 4.0 —> 5.0 erge sharpness : 0.9 —> 2.7 Cirrus : churn : 0.0 —> 0.2 At this moment Active Sky is being beta tested so I presume that they will release an update soon (probably after the V5.1 HF). November 3, 20205 yr I usually just leave an upvote in threads like these but I have to say that's amazing. The lower picture looks extremely realistic to me! Nice work. Now I don't want to rain on LM and there's likely some things I don't know, but if a user who plays around with the cfg file for a bit can make it look that much better, why doesn't it look like this out of the box? Especially since they say EA is not in beta anymore. I'm sure 5.1 is a step forward in a lot of ways but I'm a bit disappointed to be honest with regards to EA. Given it left beta I expected much more in this regard.

And they had serious issues with the DX12, which may also be new for them with P3D and these two big changes on their End did most likely kept them very busy. You will have to choose how to investigate your resources. At least all "assuming" but fact is, a LOT has being changed with V5. But you are right.....they stated it is out of BETA and it looks still like "BETA" and very minor setup....NOW it is time to make it visible stunning. In there forums it is getting more quiet compared to the first days after release V5. There are still issues, of course, but to me they seem not that big anymore. The biggest issue with V5 was the instable and unpredictable DXGI Hung error due VRAM spikes often on initial after loading the scenery I had also some error messages after Windows released updates round the 11. October. Now with V5.1 they gone.......simply gone. So lets pray and hope for some visible changes now. I do also hope they will add more enhancements with HF1 coming. They let us wait more than enough I think (more than 6 months) and normally there iterations are 2 years in between the VX versions. So 25% are already "gone" and now it is starting to making fun and progress on the visible things. Marcus Edited November 3, 20205 yr by mpo910 Regards, Marcus P.
November 3, 20205 yr Thanks alot. I really mean it. Images are night and day. But I use Active Sky and cant justify spending another 40dollars on FSGRW weather engine. LM need to wake up and step up to the plate and deliver. We all make fun of Asobo and their patches breaking stuff, but LM is just marginally better, thats my experience as a regular simmer (with No inside info). EA is absolutely not ready for primetime when it causes display issues with their internal dynamic reflection effects and with the odd colors at dusk/dawn. You'd think you were playing Doom 3 at times. EASA PPL SEPL + NQ / CB-IR in progress MSFS24 | X-Plane 12

Impressive results with the clouds, good to know this aspect can be improved. Does this also affect cloud appearance at dawn/dusk? And BTW, do you know if any other fixes are planned for the HF? I see that Orbx are trying do deal with the cloud/transparency issues at their end, but some things like the black clouds, glowing oceans at night, etc. are still showstoppers for me... Now, if you can make the cockpits lighten up a little, that would be great. When EA is on, cockpits darken. When EA is off, cockpits have much better lighting. You seem to be pretty competent on making things better. Great job. Stan Edited November 3, 20205 yr by spilok
