This looks absolutely fantastic. I briefly had the commercial add-on, but removed that and returned to Henrik Nielsen's add-on, which is a LOT better for the areas I have explore. Thank you for the huge dedication and continued input.

One question though: where can one find the mos-recent release of Global AI Ship Traffic? (fsNorway only has March 2021 version)?

Flightsim.to is the go to site for MSFS addons, there you'll also find Global AI Ship Traffic.

When can we expect the new version with wakes effects?

First batch of ships is being beta tested at the moment; second batch will be finalized this weekend and then the last batch including navy ships, fishing boats, and some special vessels awaits. The large majority is thus ready, but I think it will be another two weeks before we launch.

Well, progressing a lot but not ready - was almost there but now I will be travelling for work... But most of the models have got the full treatment with wakes, smoke and light effects and there are around 200 new ships including new models and repaints - add to that the number of kilometers of movement by the ships has been increased at least by 50% through additional routes....

Hmmmmm..... Is it my imagination, or is the ship night lighting now brighter, ala' Sea Front Vessels?

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

It depends.... some will be brighter, some darker..... In general there will be more contrast on the new models which all comes with darker emissive textures combined with effect for illumination. But on many of the older models the emissive texture is just toned down in blender so it gets a bit darker, and then comes the lights. What you see is from the beta so not all might end as you see it - I have some navigation lights which are excessive and also some lights which shines through surfaces, but I might chose not to correct at this point.

End result on freighters should be some thing close to the below image of Cap Corrientes...

Some models will be brighter like this Japanese squid jigger using lights to attract the virtual squids....

359 model folders prepared - that is 359 different ship types
676 unique gltf models prepared - that is unique ship models e.g. different subclasses of ships or different load out on deck
10180 textures prepared - that you can divide by somewhere between 6-8 and you have the number of different repaints or sim.cfg entries - I have not counted but it is a lot…

If I still have a bit of energy upload will start later this evening, if not tomorrow… In any case I will post here once it is done and available, but for sure adding approval time at flightsim.to it won’t be on this side of midnight, so please don’t spend you evening looking for it…

And, It is a public beta… Some things are still missing e.g. some routes, which have not been tested, some ships which gave to much trouble, and there will be mistakes… just look at the numbers above and you will understand why…

Henrik is such a amazing person!

Thanks!

He is.  And I'm fairly certain that his line of work involves marine conservation efforts,  which is cool and somewhat related to his hobby.

I've spent 3+ decades working at a sea port,   so ships fill out a big part of the environment for me.    He and his team are doing great work,  I've actually worked some of the real vessels that are in his mod.

Anyway,  might as well check out some of his screenshots while we wait.

Thanks again Henrik for all the work you and  your team have put in for the benefit of all. One of the best freeware addons for MSFS imo.
