Orbx has done all those airports?

That's what the community manager said.

Soooo... I have to take back my prior statements....whoever did these did a terrible job.  It's a joke

What they have done to KLGB is even worse than the prior version where it had the 2 now-demolished runways.  Unfortunately I don't actually have a 'before' screenshot.

Runway 8L/26R is missing most of the markings from the runway and has a yellow 'X on one end (from construction in 2016?  who knows?)

Runway 8R/26L has been truncated to 1/2 of it's actual length for some reason!!!!

There is actually excellent updated aerial imagery in Bing that whoever did this could have gone off of, and did not.  I also included the current FAA airport diagram on my ZenDesk ticket which this clearly does not follow.  All they had to do was go to Bing!!!

KLGB in the sim now.  Note the upper 'horizontal' runway missing its markings, and the lower 'horizontal' runway is 1/2 length:

KLGB in Bing aerial imagery, this image is (c) 2020 so should be current:

I feel the need to add a few thoughts to this thread. Let me first say that I love this sim; it is amazing and I'm having a ball. I should clarify that I am a VFR flyer, and many flights I take just leave me smiling at the immersion I feel at many places.

However... while I feel that the Dev team has created the wonderful sim I'm giving them praise for in the sentence above, there are some things that just leave me shaking my head at in a little bit of frustration. Case in point: I submitted a ticket to Zendesk back in March on the fact that KSDF (Louisville), the World port home to UPS in the U.S., has no taxiway lights. None. I have added to this ticket with multiple reminders all year, and with yesterday's new USA update I really thought that little issue would be fixed. To my disappointment, it wasn't. Yet I see that some 48 airports scattered around the country, many small airports among them, received some kind of improvement with this update. It gets me that a major U.S. airport has been allowed to go most of this year without a fix that would probably take someone less than a half hour or so to properly correct, yet it hasn't happened.

Then there's this: I flew to Devil's Tower to see the new addition (I had the mod, and it was nicely done), only to not have it show up until I was on top of it. Meaning a visibility setting was not properly coded (I have seen the thread on this and a few other landmarks that have the same issue). I don't get at this point in the sim's development how these kinds of things keep happening. My point isn't to embarrass Asobo/MS, I already confessed my affection for MSFS, but to simply ask why does this stuff keep happening? Don't you do a proper check on what your people are working on and producing? I get that you can't catch all mistakes and there are bugs that have to be ferreted out, but some of these things that are allowed out the door are just silly programming errors that shouldn't happen, and should be caught and corrected before release of an update.

The mods being put out at an amazing clip are fixing many of these errors, and I'm happy to get them, as they have enhanced the sim greatly and increased my enjoyment. It looks like I'm going to have to get back into scenery development at a small level and figure out how to add taxiway lights to KSDF myself if I want them. My point is though that by now this should have been fixed already, and somebody at Asobo should be getting their wrists slapped for these uncalled for errors that keep slipping out the door.

Rant over, and I'll get back to enjoying the sim even with it's faults. Just want someone at Asobo to pay attention...

Same thing happened to me with Yosemite today. It was bad because I normally relied on the photogrammetry of El Capitan to know where I am, but I thought I got lost because I couldn’t see it. It wasn’t until I was maybe 1/2 sm away from where it was that it popped into view. Same with Half Dome. Not sure what that was all about 😞

I've noticed they've billed it on the splash screen - whoever reads those? - as 48 airport data updates so it must indeed be things like renamed taxiways, reclassified parking spaces etc.

It certainly ain't the visuals.

I don't think Orbx was involved in the long list of airports, maybe the bespoke 4, but, not the long list.
