November 25, 20205 yr Curious what was improved in this airport list. KBWI is on it and has been a bit of a mess in the sim still showing an old runway that hasn't been there in about 6 years and one of the main runways has no markings at all, etc. I just checked it in the update and nothing has changed...it's still pretty messed up.... Well until they (Microsoft) get new aerial imagery there's not much they can do. All the official stuff is built based on the satellite imagery. Edited November 26, 20205 yr by Tuskin38
November 26, 20205 yr They finally added a terminal to PHOG. Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
November 26, 20205 yr Just had a quick look at Ronald Reagan. Erm, they're paying Orbx for this? It has slightly fancier ground markings than normal but other than that it's just the same as any other autogen job.
November 26, 20205 yr Oh come on many on that list are still inaccurate. SMO still has the OLD 5000ft runway. It is 3500ft today. SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.
November 26, 20205 yr At KLGB, they previously had runways in there that were demolished several years ago and appeared to have been put in by the BlackShark AI on top of out of date aerial images. When I landed there last night, it appeared that this has been corrected both in terms of the aerial imagery and the runways. I still need to check if the world map and nav data in LittleNavMap have also been updated to match. So perhaps they have had Orbx manually correct issues with the runwayway configs on some airports that were present in the default 'autogenerated' consumption of whatever imagery+nav data created every airport in the world, but not taken them to the level of of a full handcrafted airport. I actually think I filed a ZenDesk ticket on this where I sent them the current FAA airport diagram, so I even have 'before' pictures to compare to! If Microsoft/Asobo gave them a contract to do a job with a specific level of detail, I'm sure they delivered on that, and it was up to the person at Microsoft/Asobo specifying the requirements of the contract to decide what got done.Edit: See my updated post later in thread, they did a real hatchet job on KLGB when there was a perfectly good 2020 aerial image to go off of on Bing 😞 Edited November 26, 20205 yr by marsman2020 AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals
November 26, 20205 yr Orbx are superb but there is no detectable difference between that and any other autogen job. Maybe it was truly dire before. I'm curious about the other ones so I'll have a gander at all of them.

Fair enough...just wondering why it is on the list of improved airports...nothing at all has been improved over previous version.
