November 26, 20205 yr Hi guys, I know about Flight 1 and RealityXP GTNs. I myself have Flight1. I was using it in P3Dv4 but haven't installed since then for P3Dv5. Last time I used Pilotedge was with XP during last spring. I barely got time whole of last year to really learn and focus on PE. This year, I do have some time available in the evenings for PE (for now). Which approach should I go for when it comes to navigation. I do not have access to real Garmin updates and latest Garmin trainer is cycle 1909. Will that be okay with either Flight1/RealityXP GTNs for P3D? Or should I just do XP11.50 with Navigraph updating default G1000s. For P3D, I will need fsAerodata, and I have no idea if works well with P3Dv5 now as the scenery layer is below addons etc. What do you guys do for Pilotedge in this case? I am not going to do Vatsim. It is going to be Pilotedge only. Thanks How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
November 26, 20205 yr Hello I love the RXP GTN750... a big game changer for my GA flying. 1909 is just over a year old. Garmin will occasionally update the data when new trainers are released. Have fun! November 26, 20205 yr If I encounter a fix that's not in the DB, I just search the coords on airnav.com and then create a custom waypoint in the GTN. Quick and easy! But hardly ever have to do this with the latest trainer.
December 4, 20205 yr Author Hey guys, How good is the Flight1 Mustang, Cessna 182, and King Air B200 with their avionics for P3D. I see their planes have navigraph sub. How does it compare to Milviz's 350? in GPS depth? I have all A2A planes but those use the Flight1 650/750 garmin (whose db I can't update). Just wondering about the other birds and native navigraph. December 5, 20205 yr If you have used the GTN 750, you know it is way more capable than the various G1000 simulations out there.. I would install the GTN in V5 and go flying 😉 Edited December 5, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
December 5, 20205 yr @Skywolf, The GTNs can still be used on PE with no problem. If you have a Navigraph subscription just check the waypoints against the current charts before you file your plan. If you have them you're good. If you have any missing, just add a custom waypoint with the coordinates you need before you file and your good. Either way your good. Don't know if the transponder mode can be set in the GTN itself but if you can't set mode c in the PE app so your good there as well. The F1 Skylane doesn't work in 64bit sims. I have the mustang and the king air. Their G1000s are OK, updatable, and have most of the functions (no VNAV other than advisory). but I find the screens difficult to read and I don't particularly like the lighting or the textures.
