November 27, 20205 yr It's been a month or so since I last loaded this thing up, but thought I would see what the latest patch brings. Well the C172 still skips down the runway on its takeoff run like a kite in the wind, but that's not my main gripe. Once airborne and in level flight decided to adjust my viewpoint, only to find no response from the KB arrow keys. I could swear previously they would move you up/down or sideways but it seems no longer. Anyone else noticed this?
November 27, 20205 yr Yes, with the latest update those arrow keys got resetted. Just rebind them. November 27, 20205 yr Yes but the big question is WHY!!!? What is the logic in this..... Thomas Derbyshire
November 27, 20205 yr It's not a big deal and a fairly easy fix that takes like a minute to fix. It's still early and there's many things that may break. Have some patience and a bit of understanding. November 27, 20205 yr Yeah this is causing some angst and there are 2 things that make it tricky to easily re-map them as needed. By default, the app sets the filter to "Assigned" rather than ALL....so if it's changed and you don't have it "assigned" anymore...you won't see it on the list. The unorthodox name of the view movements. The screen I posted in another thread concerning the same question easily answers both questions visually. 🙂 You can set these 6 commands to move your view anywhere in the cockpit. (I have them mapped to my throttle buttons/hat) Its unorthodox as these view commands are all concerning cockpit view position, yet 4 and named with "TRANSLATE", and 2 are not...the INCREASE and DECREASE, to make it standardized, they should be TRANSLATE COCKPIT VIEW UP and DOWN. Sorry...I do UI standardization for a living in the healthcare field...and if you want to get anal about the details....try coding a UOM (unit of measure) in ML or ml vs mL (the standardized method)...in pharmaceutical scenarios, it can be deadly.https://www.fda.gov/media/88498/download Edited November 27, 20205 yr by Steve Dra Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
November 27, 20205 yr Yeah, the naming and descriptions of the commands available are confusing. Another one I learned is Parking Brake Set... vs... Parking Brake Toggle. TOGGLE is a key or button that cycles on and off with each key press. SET is a key or button that engages the PB when pressed but releases the PB immediately when the button is retracted. So if you have a toggle switch on your controller that stays still when you let go of it, then use the SET command. PB ON and PB OFF is switch UP and then switch DOWN. If you have a spring loaded toggle switch that snaps back when you let go of it, then use the TOGGLE command. PB ON and PB OFF is switch UP and then UP again. November 28, 20205 yr Author Thanks for posting that Steve as I would have struggled to find the name of the function.
