747-800 mod?

Featured Replies

First, Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it, Happy Holidays to everyone else.

I have a question about 747-800 mods, I know about Salty's 747 mod, but after the last update this week, this mod causes my screen to lock up on "New Activities".  Is there any mods that make the default 747 flyable?  FMC and A/P functions in particular.

Mike

The Salty mod does not work anymore after the  FS 1.12.13.0 Update, they have to Update there mod to the new standard..

I don't know any other good working mod

for the 747

cheers 😉

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Thanks to all and Merry Christmas.  This pretty much answers my question.  Ya, I meant 747-8, but it was about 1:00am and I had just spent 4-5 hours tying to figure out why it wouldn't load, that and my ever advancing age.

Thanks all.

I believe the conflict with the Salty 747-8i is caused by the A320NX since the last update. Whichever tube you're intending to jockey - temporarily remove the other from the community folder for your flight.

Just a couple of things on the MEL missing. Working PFD, most of the functionality on the FMC, etc, if you leave the A320NX in the community folder whilst attempting to operate the 747. 😉

Removal of the A320NX will set the Salty Mod back to what it should be - which is pretty decent. I've been flying it a lot.

Watch the trim on takeoff though - it's all over the place until you get her right at ACCEL ALT, then things settle in to the Climb very nicely.

Oh, and for goodness sake - fill your Trim Tank to 100% - regardless of you W + B's. C of G demands it with the current aerodynamics of the model' .cfg.

Other than that lot, she flies like a dream. 😉

Happy landings!

Thank you. I am missing my PMDG Queen and 777. Can't wait for 2 years. Thought the A320 would satiate my cravings.. It did for so long. But I want to land this big monster...errr I mean the queen. 🙂

Certainly me too. Especially the 777.

The Salty 747 is pretty good. Should be enough to satisfy your hardest cravings. It won't satisfy them all. It needs work and doesn't have depth of systems obviously or the sheer amount of guys that are working on the A320NX. But they're a rum bunch who do work on it and are slowly getting some good systems modelling done.

Go to and have a great flight.

Just to inform :

The Salty mod does not work, this has nothing to do with the flybywire mod.

The Salty mod has to be Updated to work

with the newest 1.12.13.0 Patch.

If the last Salty mod version is in the community Folder the sim crashes at loading time.

Hoping aswell for an Update from Salty

to fit with the new Version of MSFS.

cheers  😉

I've flown the 748i since Update 1.12.13.0 - by removing the A320NX - as recommended. But, as we've seen so much with not just this sim but all sims, your mileage may vary.
