Was able to manually input the fixes but for some reason VNAV did not work properly and actually tried to climb at one point. Will do more testing tomorrow time permitting with a properly loaded full FP and approach. SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

I think the way the sim is coded, that if you try and build an approach (as opposed to loading it directly from the APP/DEP page), the aircraft won’t recognize the FAF. For instance, I went into PAWG today, setting VNAV to the FAF crossing altitude. It descended fine, but when I hit the APR button, just prior to the FAF, nothing happened and I had to hand fly it from that altitude.
