SunSkyJet KDTW Runway Lights Overblown

Featured Replies

Has anyone managed to get SunSkyJet KDTW to work in P3Dv5.1?

Install was simple but the problem I am having is the runway lights are large and overblown. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm not using HDR or shaders. https://prnt.sc/z8j4xb

same issue.  They didn't update the lighting fx after the V5 p3d update.  so until they (or somebody with the knowledge) update it we will just have to treat it as a day only airport.

Thanks for the update. Glad it’s not just me. Now we wait.

And not only KDTW, BTW....Some are overblown, some dimmed to the point I can't see them.

i was hoping we might get lucky and see somebody like inibuilds take over the lighting and do their own patch.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Has KDTW been updated to P3V v5 now or is it still v4.5?

To my knowledge it hasn't been updated. I installed it with the ini exclude from inibuilds and it looks OK in day light but the SODE jet ways are a mess. It surprises me that one of the up scale developers like Fly Tampa or Flight Beam hasn't done KDTW it being such a major airport.

I've had a few beta versions of this scenery now. It's payware level and looks very good, but I'm wondering if this will ever get out of beta and be fully released.

This is a very good point. It’s crazy just how far along it is. It’s strange it just died on the vine

It was either on Facebook or SSJ forums where the developer explains why he’s been out of site for awhile. I hope it at least makes it compatible with v5.

It's the developer not LM.

How did you mod the lights?

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Rename SODE KDTW_SSJ_DL.xml and KDTW_SSJ_JETWAYS_ALL.xml to OFF or edit them to add the "node" accordingly if you have P3Dv4 with P3Dv5 on the same machine.

what does that have to do with the overblown runway lights?
