Thrustmaster Warthog stick causes CTD after update

Featured Replies

I've had my Thrustmaster Warthog stick and Throttle along with other periphelas like Honcecomb Alpha yoke, Saitek Multipanel, Switchpanel,Saitek Flight panel, Thrustmaster rudder and TracIR working with no problem previously, but after the lastest update my Thrustmaster stick causes CTD when loading the sim. I've tried to unplug all other USB periphelas and only have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick attached but that doesen't solve the problem, still get CTD. But when I have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick unplugged and all other periphelas plugged in, the sim works just fine. I've tried different USB ports direct to the PC with no luck. I can calibrate the Thrustmaster Warthog stick in the PC so i guess the stick works. So i'm at the end of the rope and just don't know what to do next. Any suggestions are welcome.

Come here you big, beautiful cup of coffee and lie to me about how much we’re going to get done today.

I can’t really help only to say I use the Warthog throttle and I haven’t experienced a CTD.  Not helpful I know but I suspect the problem lies elsewhere.

Sadly I haven´t got any fixes or ideas for you, apart from the fact that my Warthog set works without issues here.

My TH Warthog works without problem, I don't use any program from TH, only plug and play in Windows.

Thanks for trying to help guys. It's really a weird problem since the throttle works fine. It's just the joystick that causes the CTD.

YOu could try a USB hub, I have my TM Warthog/TPR/trackIR all pluged into it and that pluged into a USB v2.

does it work in other programs?

I use Warthog every flight, had same problem few months ago. Solved it by changing profiles in the MSFS Controls window. I had 3 or 4 profiles for WH stick. One of them suddenly caused that exact problem so deleted that one profile and all was well using the other profiles.

In other words if I had the bad profile being the current one in use, then trying to start MSFS was a CTD. But if any other WH stick profile was current no CTD. So I just deleted the bad profile and all was well and problem never came back.

I've updated my old computer with the MSFS 2020 latest update and the Joystick work just fine. I'm guessing it's a conflict with a program on my new gaming computer and the Warthog Stick. A quick view at the logbook shows that it's a exception code 0xc0000005, Fault offset 0x0000000000e8be23 and faulting process ID 0xfe0 and report ID: 23cfbe82-c452-466b-a23b-2f612af077e7. But that's all greek to me.

I'm a happy camper now. 😁 Todays sim 3 update fixed my problem with the CTD i got every time after the last World update when plugging in my Thrustmaster Warthog joystick. Must admit that it was with little faith and a trembling hand that I took that USB cable and plugged in a USB port and restarted the sim......... What The French...no CTD. Oh ye of little faith...maybe I've learnt my lesson now to trust Asobo.....Amen!😂.
