Not sure what all these screen shots are supposed to demonstrate? We don't fly in photos so without video and FPS #'s this is pretty academic.

They're showing what an acceptable frame rate looks like, obviously. Although if you want a moving picture version of my screenshot, here you go at 4 minutes,  47 minutes and 1h 04 minutes for exterior shots, although keep in mind that this was also whilst recording etc, which impacts things a tiny bit, but the settings were the same and it's okay as you can see:

or this one with a default aeroplane and an overview of the sim on that PC:

I'm holding steady with 30 and up FPS with my system. (See signature for system specs)

Low Rig Spec here; 4790K O/C to 4.6,

16 Gig of DDR3 2400 mhz RAM,

Nvidia 1080Ti, 11 GB Mem.

3 x SSD 250 Gigs a' piece, (Cdrive: Windows, Ddrive: MSFS, Edrive: Rolling Cache.)

750 Watt EVGA PSU

Most settings on MEDIUM/ HIGH.

FPS approx 60-65 for SEP's and 45-50 FPS for Glass.

Happy.

I do feel the 1080 Ti is holding the rest of the rig up somewhat, having said that, that 4790K Devil's Canyon is one hell of a chip. It has only one mode; Sprint. Bless it. Definitely had my moneys worth out of it and I'll not ask it to prove its bravery in any other way than running good FPS in MSFS 2020.

That gives you an idea of how low my spec is compared to more modern Rigs.

But I've had zero real world work since the Covid thing started so can't upgrade anytime soon.

Not saying I'm not happy. Far surpasses anything from P3D, X-Plane, etc, blah, blah, blah.

Looking at all the comments so far it appears all of you have more powerful processors than me which is now making me think about replacing my CPU.

On another note - is it possible to kill displays on certain multi display planes? For example on the 787 - can you turn off the FOs displays? That will squeeze a couple more FPS out etc. Even on a Cessna with Garmin glass - can you kill one screen?

I would say that you are overthinking this... why not wait until you have it installed and try it out... I still think that you may be pleasantly surprised.  Start with the C152 and you will have no glass screens to worry about 😉

That will depend on how much lead way your motherboard offers in CPU support. You'll likely end up having to buy a new motherboard, RAM at min. With the current high prices in GPU I'd wait until the market is sane.

You can squeeze some better Frames if you turn off the Copilots screens in the A320NX, you can also lose the right seat displays in some of the smaller glass aircraft but you'll lose functionality of things like the AP, etc, and of course you won't be able to see the map display unless you have the Inset switched on on the left screen.

Before I bought the sim I tried it through the Microsoft store because I wasn't sure how well it would run on my machine.  At the time I had a GTX 760 graphics card and even with that it ran better than FSX.  I replaced the card with a GTX 1660 Super and it ran even better.  BTW, I first tried it with a spinning 7200 RPM drive and it ran just fine.  I've since installed an SSD for it, but it doesn't seem much faster when loading.

You might want to try it before upgrading your machine and see what you actually need to upgrade.
