February 26, 20215 yr Today I added Dallas Downtown freewware.. Since all my freewares are airports only (which doesn't add much load time) I was concerned about the Dallas city addition (this is my city) and so timed the load. The loading time has come down from 5 minutes to 4 minutes. That's like 20% improvement. I Double checked it. Without community folder, it takes 3 minues and now with so many 120+ addons, it just takes 1 additional minute? Is this a Placebo effect. Could some of you confirm this please. 1:23 1:28 = 5 min 4:48 4:52 = 5 min 1:10 11:13 = 4 min? 1:19 11:23 = 4 min Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 26, 20215 yr I remember good all days when you boot computer and go for a 10 minutes coffee break lol I have tons of stuff in my community folder but never wait more than a minute . I’m using SSD drive for the past few years. Since then it has increased loading times significantly! Are you using HHD or SSD? I am using the Hi tech, chewing gum looking strip that is attached to the mother board (NVMe SSD). . February 26, 20215 yr Without measuring, I think loading times became a bit shorter, the 20% may apply. Mostly, that World Update III Intro seems to run quicker than the World Update II Intro did. Which would be good. If being asked, I would skip this at all after having shown it twice. Or is there already a -superfastlaunch option? February 26, 20215 yr Same experience. Improved loading as well as faster return to the main menu after a flight.

To get Claris works to the point you could start working on a document on a single floppy drive Mac SE took 38 disk swaps and nearly 20 minutes 😄 TBH If MSFS is taking 10 or 20 minutes to load people would probably be better off leaving the game running and hibernating their PC instead of shutting down. February 27, 20215 yr I'm sure my loading times have improved too but I'm no longer using any caches and keep my community folder a bit lighter than before, so it's hard to be precise. Interesting to note that so many of you are noticing it as well though.
