Can somebody send me a list of words not allowed on this forum. PM is fine.

In my last post please insert the word baffled in lieu of "words not allowed.  I fail to see why i.g.n.o.r.a.n.t. is on that list.  I have yet to see a dictionary that does not contain this word.

Tony

I think all the words are in the dictionary. The key is to identify which ones upset the sensibilities of the social / cultural group that made / maintains the rules.

I think this is pedantic and ridiculous political correctness gone incredibly wrong. Who can possibly take offence to the word word not allowed particularly in the context in which it was used.

Whose minute or non functional brain or thought has come up with this censure.

I wouldn't raise my blood pressure over it Tony. It's silly but not really worth any drama. I think of it like a 30 kph speed limit on a wide open country road; really silly but not a hill to die on lol.

Cheers.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

WestAir,

I could not agree with you more mate.  It is silly, very silly in fact. I already have a blood pressure problem and do not need to accelerate that LOL.

What concerns me is that the person , committee, private or governmental organization, is probably paying someone some considerable dollars in order to come up with this silliness.

If in fact, it is governmental, then it is my dollars that are contributing to this problem and THAT hurst LOL

It is what it is.

The amusing one is when you get old school anarchist rants (generally from people who call themselves "libertarians") about too many rules and restrictions combined with the same person making claims we need more "law and order" ... and I am like like "how can holding those two polar opposite views at the same time be even vaguely rational".

The filter can be annoying but it is not that hard to work with.

This thread is getting way way way off topic BTW ...

That’s precisely the person who annoys me the most. All for freedom of the individual over authority but hecka authoritarian over the words other people are allowed to use.

Censoring ign*rant is a bit strange indeed but if blotting out some words spares me the avalanche of S and F words which would inevitably come with a total freedom of vocabulary I am all for it. And I am a libertarian of sort 😁.  Where there is a will there is way, I mean to say nasty things  without profanity 😇. There are true pro on this forum.

I'm a real crj pilot and I think it's the same exact thing. Which is not to say bad, but room for improvement.

Someone knows if the FMC CDU is undockable with his keyboard or only the display (like the default B747)?
