After landing, I went thru the calibration. This did indeed fix the issue. Also, without calibration, AT was not arming. Now I can use the reverse detents on the throttles which is great! I think many people might get caught out by this (new throttle calibrations) as on the updater itself, there is no mention of what has changed. People like me are too used to simply updating and not going across to Discord to see the change logs. March 27, 20215 yr awesome update from FBW, the experimental mod with the custom FBW is a blast. currently enroute from ENVA to LOWW, extremely smooth at ENVA, now at higher FL anyway, curious about the approach into LOWW but still some 350nm to go.... I think they used the popup in the installer to show some warning or things like this but I do agree, it requires some learning curve here in regards to the thorttle settings, I think they will make video or something like this to show how to do it. Also sim pilot has create a tutorial for the new calibration settings: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
March 27, 20215 yr Author By the way folks, what do you think of the new autopilot? I am bit biased since I am already using since few months and I forgot the feeling of the default autopilot 😅 Edited March 27, 20215 yr by omarsmak30 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
March 27, 20215 yr can this plane be flown manually, without any inputs in the FMS. I notice that when on a climb, the plane pitches up and cannot be leveled with elevator control input. I am new with this aircraft, and am using the latest developers version. I know that the proper way to fly it is to enter all relevant data into the fMS; I am just curious is it's possible to just jump in and fly, especially when I just want to do touch and go's.
March 27, 20215 yr Activating APPR during a RNAV approach is no longer working, I will try an ILS a bit later

Readme for Exp. clearly states RNAV doesn't work (yet) Experimental version, It's weird because just before updating the installer and the plane version last night I did a couple of RNAV approaches, pressing the APPR switch, it would follow some kind of glide slope It's no more the case

I am bit biased since I am already using since few months and I forgot the feeling of the default autopilot 😅 Using the 'experimental' version. I just did a flight from CYXU to CYUL, hand flew the departure to cruise and found the AP very smooth. I landed at runway 27L, the ILS and GS capture was perfect. I also used the autoland feature by selecting AP2 which is amazing. John
March 27, 20215 yr I love that the FD worked (for the first time ever!) on the initial SRS takeoff phase. I did unfortunately have the autopilot do some S turning at one point trying to stay on course. High hopes for this one! James
March 27, 20215 yr Also had the AP doing some s-turning. Coming up on waypoints where even a small heading change, say 15-20 degrees is required, the AP tends to initially bank the wrong way and then correct and start the turn in the correct direction. This results in overshooting the track. Then on re-intercepting, it overshoots again. So a series of S turns results until it settles down on track. I had this happen repeatedly on most waypoints on a short 1 hour flight today. I see another update has been released since this flight though....I’m sure the FBW team will be on top of this quickly.
