April 4, 20215 yr If anyone thinks that FBW is going to continue to develop their A320 to FSL level and add other variants for free, I think you're kidding yourselves. At some point they're going to want to be paid for their efforts.

The A32NX project will remain free and open-source forever. There have been many false claims of the plane becoming a payware addon, and fake images showing the plane costing 90 EUR on the Marketplace. We want to make clear that the Marketplace offering is going to be free, and will simply be an additional option to download our Stable releases. In addition to this, our upcoming A380X addon is also going to be free and open-source as soon as public alpha v0.1.0 opens up. Any speculation of either project becoming payware is completely incorrect. This is good news and what I expect from a team of committed professionals/ amateurs and visionaries that comprise the FBW Team. They're doing it to get it right - it's an exercise in brilliance - not dollar. To doubters - and readers of Hype; Shelve your cynicism for a moment - there are still good things and people, and in this case; good groups of people - in the World - who are prepared to do stuff for free because it represents a personal achievement playing their part in a fantastic team who achieve parity with their goals. p.s; In other words; they're not doing it for the money, they're doing it because they can. Any speculation of either project becoming payware is completely incorrect. The REALLY SAD aspect about this announcement is that is has been oft repeated to a seemingly deaf public. Every time I see any reference to making it payware, it has been complete and total speculation and it has largely been adopted as the inevitable truth. My admiration for FBW is probably well known, but the need to adopt a defence posture for an incredible contribution to the MSFS simming community, is largely incomprehensible to me, As an aged pensioner with very limited fiscal resources, I am very grateful for any freeware offerings, even if a few of them are somewhat lacking in the quality department. If any of the freeware developers find a need to go to payware status, they largely leave me behind, however they go their way with my best wishes and gratitude for what they have given me. I really do appreciate FBW for releasing in little bits an incredible aircraft and one which is steadily getting better. This is another aspect that some payware developers could adopt too. How many devs release a product which is good, but not great, and then follow it up without regular updates. I will stop here as I think I am starting to rant somewhat.
