May 21, 20215 yr I had a lg 49 inch 4K tv for P3d v5.1 hf1 and I was not happy with performance from my 1080ti msi lightning z with antialiasing set at 8xmsaa 16x AA Textures were too jaggy and shimmering ive tried 2xssaa and 4xssaa bur performance was bad with dynamic lighting. So I decided to guy the Samsung g5 144hz 2k rtss set up also. i set it up and cranked up the AA to 4xssaa and very happy with performance with dynamic lightning. but want to get my textures more sharper. any advice on settings? Ncp settings? thank you mike
May 21, 20215 yr I went through several months of buying monitors, trying them, and returning them. I probably tried more than 10 different monitors (including curved) from several manufacturers and anything other than 4k didn't impress me. Once you've had it, you can't live without it. My 1080ti is working beautifully now with my 60Hz 4K monitor. I settled on an LG 32" 4K monitor. I don't believe flight simulator needs more than 60hz. I tried all the higher hz monitors and for me, they were all lacking in sharpness and real blacks when it came to scenery and the overall experience. With the 466.27 nvidia graphics driver, I have most of my sliders full right, and I'm using 8xmsaa. I'm happy with the sharpness of scenery and textures. Stan

Unfortunately the 4K tv wasn’t working out quite well for me. I’ll have to tinker with my monitor. thanks mike
May 21, 20215 yr Moderator @mikeymike, TVs will not give you the quality image a monitor will. They give you immersion instead. You can have immersion or image quality. The choice is yours. As Stan says, you don’t need more than 60Hz and 30Hz is ideal for flight sim. But 30Hz monitors aren’t that common. My BenQ PD3200U 32” 4K has it but it’s over 600GBP. A 4K monitor is as good as it gets for image quality. Ray (Cheshire, England). Cheers mike I actually think your monitor is a good choice.. maybe just sit slightly farther away from it if you find textures not sharp enough.. Bert

I have a good hisense 50" 4k TV that does 25/30/50/60 hz natively, and it works sweetly for me, even better that I picked it up for £200 😉 Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS

I use Windows Explorer and how well it displays text. My Sony 32” FullHD TV that cost around 390GBP back in 2013 was a quality TV but it struggled to display text clearly. Monitors are far better in that respect. How is your HiSense? Ray (Cheshire, England). I’ll have to agree with you ray. The monitor is wayyyyyy better by miles. from clouds to sky textures etc looks amazing. I was tinkering with my ncp settings and it’s looking quite nice now. just trying to figure what setting to use in regards to frame rate lock for 144hz instead of 60hz at 30 locked. I have been reading that some are complaining about antialiasing is worse with latest version of windows 10 with nvidia drivers. if this is the case hopefully it gets fixed soon. cheers mike
