May 23, 20215 yr Thought I'd load up P3D to have a look at the CS 777 in that sim. Forgotten what a pain loading that thing is. So thought I'd stick another bunch of these up while I wait This is interesting. It is (was?) included in DD's Moscow package and is supposedly Mr DD's apartment/offices I always did like this beast - Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
May 23, 20215 yr The repeated arrogancy and disrespect towards LM and loyal P3D simpilots displayed by several members of the MSFS community really start irritating me! I don't feel like wanting to become a member of such a community! Many of these MSFS folks do not realize which strong benefits and advances LM truly did bring to the flightsim community after Microsoft suddenly stepped out of the flightsim scene.

May 24, 20215 yr I removed P3D the day after MSFS came out and never looked back. Anyway, another great collection of aircraft Andy, you show them well! May 24, 20215 yr Author Er, wasn't meaning to have a dig at P3D with this post, far from it - I was just enjoying my old screenies from those days. But the truth of the matter, and a minor but nonetheless contributing factor to my not using it now, is that it takes about ten minutes to load on my system since v5, because of the way they changed the caching on load. Doesn't bother me now because I don't use it anymore, but like I also said, I'm hoping they'll spruce it up a bit in a future release as I'd like to get a workable copy just for some of the things in my hangar. And yes, I do appreciate what P3D gave over FSX - once I'd discovered it (back at v2) I was straight in there. But that was then, and this is now. Hi Ryan, Dominique, I often got comments about my shots being dark when I used to post on the Orbx forum. When I was looking back through my files at these old pix I felt the same way, whereas I was always very happy wiith them at the time. I think what's changed, for me at least, is that I've gotten used to the lighting in MSFS, which really is stunning straight out of the box. I was always messing about in P3D with various shader and lighting packages, trying to get a setup that I liked, and I realise now that I never really achieved it except on very rare occasions.
