Aerosoft CRJ 550/700 - Control throttle with keyboard

Featured Replies

I just installed Aerosoft CRJ 550/700 for MFS2020 and prepared everything for the test flight but when I wanted to do a taxi to the runway I was disappointed: I can't manually control the throttle with F2 / F3 keys (Levers move but power stays on idle) . I didn’t find a solution on “the whole internet”. I just can't figure out that they didn't allow that possibility (you have to use a throttle quadrant). Is it that complicated? Would that reduce the quality of the product? What about customers who don’t have a throttle quadrant? Do they perhaps want to be different at all costs and thus hide their complexes in relation to PMDG? I just can't understand someone making software for a platform and throwing out the default functionality. Unacceptable!

Aerosoft CRJ 550/700: Grade 1/10.

I'm a keyboard flier.  I don't have this product, but if the throttle levers are moving, something must be happening.  Did you release the brakes?

No brakes. Everything is as it should. Levers are moving but nothing happens untill get to CLB position and then power goes above 80%. It is impossible to set power in Manual range.

Use an Xbox controller if you can't find a yoke, throttle or joystick

Yes it's one possible solution but I still don't understand why they bypassing F2 and F3 keys. F1/idle and F4/full throttle works as on all other aircrafts. They made very complex aircraft and then failed on basics.

Dont buy a complex add on designed to be flown properly and expect it to be flown with a keyboard. Wouldnt it be easier to go on ebay or amazon and purchase one?

Well you could say you failed in the very basics of flight siming not having a basic stick with a throttle slider on it.

It is not about to buy one but about concept. Because of that I think that PMDG aircrafts not expensive. You know what you paid for. Everything works and there is not suprises behind the corner.

Your suprise is you would buy a PMDG and use a key board. It beggars belief and you blame AS. Grade -1/10

@ nermingk ,

Did you test with default aircraft?

Note:

I use the Keyboard keys often during testing and sometimes with payware aircraft during normal flights.

I also use several Yokes / Joysticks. Depends on what I am doing and flying.

For example to initially test normal thrust and reverse thrust before making assignments in the sim or FSUIPC.

But...... it's included on system requirements!

........

  • Mouse with mouse wheel
  • Controller with throttle channel.   ⬅️
  • Internet connection required for activation

I know it is in System requirements. This is what I'm talking about. I just can't understand why. Is implementation of sim default F-keys so difficult? Isn't it better to let users to choose what they prefer?
