  1. Nice... but in my opinion REX Soft Clouds are far more realistic...
  2. Don't get me wrong: FSX + PMDG + FSDT JFK with dual core at 2.5ghz... hm... sorry, but no cure for that
  3. It's a problem with taxiway and runway holding point of specific airport. They have an error. I guess that is not happening at all airports. try update afcad. You can find them in AVSIM Library.
  4. Download link not working! ("Sorry, the file you requested is not available.")
  5. It means that their FP will never be current. I asking this becouse all my AI traffic is custom made (mostly from AIG and UTT Flight plans - 50/50). Some airlines increase their routes number on summer (decrease on winter). I think it is more important that there is a new flight from A to B than eg. is departure time is 14:00 or 15:10.
  6. I always wondered why Alpha India Group publish their (excellent) AI Flight Plans one step back. Now when the season is Summer 2014 they publish Winter 2013/14. It was always like that! Is it their policy or something else. Does anybody know?
  7. If You ask me: Yes, they are mipped.
  8. If I understand correctly we must have vis<1000m (fog) to see this stratus layer below. Can it be placed always (on the edge of lower and upper vis) when reduced vis reported below. (Again: IF vis < some_value THEN put_stratus_layer) You can make option for user to choose if he want to use this 'effect' or fake fog simulation. It does not matter how we call it: cloud or something else, point is that we don't see ground from above. Are next scenarios correct: We are in the plane at 6000 feet 12 miles from airport. 1. Airport reported visibility is 900m -> stratus cloud layer appears and we don't see airport 2. Airport reported visibility is 5000m -> no stratus cloud layer and we see airport with slightly reduced visibility I understood when you said "Visibility layers up ahead or beneath you cannot be seen, FSX cannot render anything but the current visibility". I say: place stratus cloud above this area when you look in it from distance.(if reported visibility is smaller then distance). Let FSX to render cloud if it can't render "anything but the current visibility". Maybe it is not perfect, but for me is the worst when I see all from above and suddenly I don't se anything. Tnx again!!! Nermin
  9. OK. Thanks for your patience. And I have to say once again: Opus is the best for me and I recommend it whenever I can. Cheers
  10. I think there was a misunderstanding. I would like to see (if it possible) reduced vis in lower levels, to be more precise, to see in what I'm flying (descending) to - in this case to see low vis layer in front of me - in which later I will enter- like I see clouds ahead, without sudden occurrence. It such as we can see cloud only after we enter in, but not before. Something like this (in our case we see all below until we cross the border of upper and lower vis) I'm sorry if I bother you, and thanks for all help. Nermin
  11. Thank You Stephen for fast and detailed answer. The thing that I reported here is that: "How can I see airport from 16-30km if vis on this airport is 14km?. In other words: How can I see you if you can't see me? But from your post I understood that is FSX vertical vis rendering problemm. Is it so hard or impossible to put some layer in 20miles ahead and 4000-6000 feets below if metar reports lower vis in this area (IF x < y THEN z)? Thanks for tips about my settings. I allways set Destination ICAO an Max Cruise Alt, but I forgot that screenshot. I also tried Default Surface Vis set to 48km but in this case I don't liked "all that white around me" especially on high altitudes when CAVOK reported and expect to see far in distance. Nermin
  12. First of all I want to say that almost a year I am using OpusFSX and for me this is by far the best addon in its category. But only, I would say, irregularity occurs when there is reduced visibility reported on destination airport. Is that so often mentioned FSX limitation, my OPUS settings or something else. To be clearer, I attach screenshots and OPUS Weather file. I paused FSX, done screenshot and copied OPUS Weather file when screenshot is taken. My OPUS version is 3.34.0. Take a note of distance from Destination Airport (in this case CYYC) and reported visibility. Same was on 20 miles from destination. After couple of miles everything was as reported (Same weather file) My Opus Settings And OpusWeather file as attachment. Thanks in advance!
  13. RESIZING FAIB FSX TEXTURES TO 1024 WITH PHOTOSHOP AND NVIDIA DDS PLUGIN A320 Example 1. Open 2048 FAIB_A320_IAE_T.dds or FAIB_A320_CFM_T.dds in Photoshop 2. Resize it to 1024 (Edit / Image size) 4. Choose Save (Now Nvidia plugin is opening) 5. On Nvidia plugin select: DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha + Save 6. Close File 7. DONE Do same with FAIB_A320_xxx_L in FSX\texture folder (this has to be done only one time) p.s. Tip: Record steps from 2. to 6. like Photoshop Action. Now you can automatically convert all textures at once using: File / Automate / Batch
  14. No problemm, but it's all depends on software you are using. I only use Photoshop.
  15. As I said: I resized them all to 1024. Day and Night. And it works. Just save them in dds. I have done small ekspriment. (Saved Lufthansa texture back to bmp.)
  16. I think that your problemm is with BMPs. FAIB FS9 textures are BMP but FSX testures are DDS. Check your "FAIB_A3xx_CFM_L" textures in "fsx_folder\texture". Are they dds? (I had the same 'error' when tried BMPs as day and dds as night textures.) After reduction try to save them both as dds. I don't know if DXTBmp or PSS can do that becouse I never used them. But FSX SDK default ImageTool can. All Best
  17. I resized all faib fsx textures to 1024 dxt5 dds format using Photoshop and Nvidia plugin and they looks fine to me. Can you post some image? This is mine: FAIB A320 (at 1024) and Nvidia plugin options.
  18. OPUS IS THE BEST! (My best add-on after NGX)
  19. Panel config: FMC / MENU / PMDG SETUP / PANEL STATE SAVE (give it some name: Cold and Dark etc.) For aircraft (livery) instruments specific settings you must have registration INI file for that livery in "FSX_folder\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Aircraft". Name of that reg INI file must be in your "atc_id" section of NGX aircraft.cfg
  20. I'm glad to hear that the advice on cleaning helped you. Now you can do the fine adjustment of FSX. Most important is that you no longer need to pause fsx before touchdown:)
  21. I had the identical problem a year ago. it drove me crazy. I tried all the above. Nothing. When I did not know what to do, I accidentally saw that my CPU temperature is above normal (very high). I cleaned the computer from dust (CPU fan and PSU fan) and the problem disappeared. Everything worked perfectly again. I suggest you try it. After countless uninstalling and installing, monitoring the processes, I've solved the problem in such a simple way. I say again: try it. maybe it help you. Just try to keep cool CPU and see what happens all the best
  22. Absolutely agree with you! Opus is new level of weather in FSX. (Metar = what you see). For me, what is PMDG in aircraft simulation, Opus is in wether. Everything is as should it be. I suggest it to everyone. When you try it, you will never go back to the other wheather engines.
  23. One from me... (NGX + OPUS + REX) Once I started with Opus Weather, I just can't stop enjoying it... // goodbye ActiveSky:) //
  24. 1. PMDG 737 NGX 2. PMDG MD-11 3. PMDG 747 then five empty spaces and then nothing.
  25. Thank You for support and detailed answer. Generally I am very satisfied with Opus Weather and now everything works fine. Problem I described was, I believe, single case.
