June 23, 20214 yr Hello, My fav plane to fly is the Caravan specially cargo ops. However as you all know the version in the sim is passenger only with windows in the cabin. How could one blank the windows? Can it be done with graphics software or would it need Blender etc? Im guessing a 3D app will be needed as the windows seem baked into a 3D model and not just a simple livery wrapped around the model like FSX. Thanks for any ideas. I think I did download a Fedex repaint of the default Caravan, and flew that for a little while, but I'm like you, I'd like to have a more cargo-ish version. When I fly it I avoid using my passenger window views that I have hotkeys for on the numpad. I only allow left & right wingview & forward left/right to "pretend" that im in a cargo Caravan 🧐
June 27, 20214 yr I certainly hope that this thread has legs. I also enjoyed the Cargomaster, and I miss it in MSFS. Surely, with all the talent in this community, someone might come up with a solution at some point. I'm certainly willing to pay for it.
June 27, 20214 yr Author Just noticed that the author who made the FedEx Caravan livery had said this: Quote There was alot i wanted to do with this but limited due to the model and the way the files work but in the future i will work on this to implement the following:White out the rear windows and place a full size logo on the sides. Pending a way to remove the glass. Straighten a few small bits of text that are placed on vertical lines. If you have any close up detail photos of this aircraft i can update more. https://flightsim.to/file/5478/fedex-feeder-cessna-208b-grand-caravan-ex-livery
June 27, 20214 yr Personally, I would much rather carry freight than passengers, but it seems devs really underestimate the number of freight drivers out there. Fortunately there are quite a few freight models getting a look in on previous sims, so I expect some will eventually get some air in this one if we just sit on our hands and wait long enough. June 27, 20214 yr You could prob white out windows its done in CS777 now until a freighter version comes out but you will still see window frames thats in the model no way around it - model has to have no windows does la croix hydrate Edited June 27, 20214 yr by Richard Sennett Rich Sennett

Yes me also, much prefer cargo routes and dedicated cargo planes. 7 hours ago, Richard Sennett said: You could prob white out windows its done in CS777 now until a freighter version comes out but you will still see window frames thats in the model no way around it - model has to have no windows does la croix hydrate Even that would be okay with me for now until they make a dedicated cargo model (this I guess will be a 3rd party plane). If it became possible to blank the stock Caravans windows and remove all the passenger seats that would be excellent. Using Blender the modder could fill the cabin with boxes and the safety net etc.

Maybe "previous sims" for you but for me they're all "current sims". If I mean to get my cargo fix I fly other sims sometimes. It's the only way, until we get more dedicated cargo models in MSFS. The CS777 with blanked out windows is fine, it is just like a combi aircraft would be, one that has been converted from pax to cargo use. I'm not sure if any 777's have been converted in this way in the real world. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

June 28, 20214 yr Well there IS a mod that does the opposite and removes the cargo pod 😄 https://flightsim.to/file/15086/cessna-208-b-grand-caravan-ex-no-pod

Somehow they look incomplete without it. I like the truck sort of look it gives. I did read about a company that makes a much more efficient pod, less drag and increased internal storage.
