My 2600K should do benefit from this latest update. Thanks for haring.

MSFS

Interesting to see this.

I posted recently that I was planning on spending around £2000 on a PC build specifically for MSFS. I don't play any other PC games.

Would it be fair to say now I don't need the latest and greatetst and can now look at cheaper builds? for example an i7 / RTX3070 / 16GB RAM etc?

That's what I'm thinking of doing....I was going to spend at least 1500 pounds but now.......maybe an i7 and descent card.....what fink guys??

To both posts above... It depends entirely on what resolution you play at and what FPS are acceptable to you.

If you are happy with a consistent 30FPS @1080p with graphics maxed out then there is absolutely no need for a monster rig.  Obviously if you want 4K@60FPS then one of the higher end GPU's is  going to be needed.

It's all about what experience you are going to find acceptable.

Not interested in 4k currently. Just like you previously said, solid frames at a high level of quality in the busy areas will do. Would you think the i7 / RTX3070 and 16GB RAM combo would be a good plan now?

I will still be building a new PC when hardware prices become sensible because my rig is a decade old for the most part. However the update has certainly made me more comfortable whilst waiting into next year.

I am glad to see so many people happy, and feel bad for those that didn't see any improvements. or have items such as TrackIR and many other items available for PC, not working very well. Hopefully at some point these things will be addressed for them and others with issues. I also have a low end graphics card, but a decent i7 processor and 16 GB RAM. I am NOT a fps person, I just set my settings the best for me. The speed at which, for me only, it now goes from menu to menu, loading times, is amazing. I even bought a SSD a month ago to get it off a spinning HDD, which did help a bunch, but nothing like this combination of SU5 and my new SSD.

I just hope it continues this way, and others issues are also worked out in future updates. In the PC world with so many combinations and so many hardware addon's, someone is always going to have an issue, I think? I even think the Xbox will but they will be an easier fix cause it's all the same hardware.

The Sky is Calling 🙂 I know there is gonna be a response to this line 🙂

Good luck everyone! The future is bright! Me thinks!

I see no reason why that wouldn't give you a great experience. (as long as its a half decent i7)

For reference my rig (specs in sig)  is providing me with a perfectly fluid, smooth 30FPs in all situations @1080p.  I tested all the heaviest places for me, with addon airports and heavy weather conditions with Ultra settings (and LOD's pushed even higher in the config) and it remained butter smooth at all times.    I couldn't even get RAM usage over 13Gb  in the worst situation where i used to use around 25/26Gb so 32GB ram seems overkill.

This is all with Helicopters, GA and WW2 fighters mind you.. i dont fly the passenger jets. I imagine they will certainly be heavier on FPS.  I do have the DC6 though which is probably the heaviest plane for FPS that i fly.  That'll be my next test.

Thanks for this. Definitely something for me to think about now!
