August 3, 20214 yr Hoping someone can help. I’m experiencing a large FPS loss with this latest update. I know I don’t have a powerful system but I was getting 28-30 FPS with moderate settings before this mega update. Now I’m getting 10-12 FPS. I’ve been researching on google with lots of suggestions that had no results. I’ve updated my system and all programs. I have the latest Nvidia drivers. Even if I lower all graphics settings in MSFS 2020 there is no change. Frame rate stays at 10 - 12. I’m at a loss what is doing this. Everyone seems to be gaining and I’m going the other way. Would appreciate any help. My computher specs are: Intel i7 4790 4.0 gigahertz 32 gigs ram Video card Nvidia GTX 960 8 GIGS RAM Thanks Gerry
August 3, 20214 yr You should definitely see a performance improvement with SU5, have you try to run the game vanilla without any add-on in your community folder? System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I

August 3, 20214 yr Have you made any setting changes on your PC? Are you overclocking? Is Windows game mode still on? FSX | DCS | X-Plane 11 | MSFS 2020 | IL2:BoX Favorite aircraft currently: MSFS Savage Cub
August 3, 20214 yr Author I’ve made no changes. I’m not overclocking and Windows game mode is off. This is so crazy but something must be affecting it. I’m determined to find what it is. Thanks.

August 3, 20214 yr Author I updated Windows before install and updated everything in MSFS. Also all drivers are updated. I want to explore everything before I spend the time of uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks.

August 3, 20214 yr Author Good idea to check what is running in the background. Also I’ll turn game mode back on. Will work on these tomorrow and post results here. Much thanks.

Gerry Be sure to also delete the addons you bought through the marketplace (under "official"). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
August 3, 20214 yr Hi I have the same CPU as you, and originally found terrible blurry textures and low frames (at Orbx LOWI). First I reset my graphics to High End and tweaked to suit, eg no depth of filed or motion blur, clouds to Ultra. You may have to do this every time you restart the sim but mine seem to be holding. I reinstalled LOWI, and added 8Gb of rolling cache. Rebooted and wow, 50 FPS on the ground, and over 60 aloft. Prior to this it was 23fps on the ground and up to 35-40 aloft. still occasional CTDs, which I never had in this region before, but the performance more than compensates. Fingers crossed. Not sure if this will help you…
