Just Flight PA-28R Turbo Arrow III/IV for MSFS 2020

Isn't a little nose up trim normal though for a PA-28?

In game the PA28 aircraft get skittish on take-off roll  and will wheelbarrow even with back yoke if trim is even a smidgeon forward.

It is not just a case of needing a bit more back pressure to compensate for the forward trim like you would expect in a real Cherokee.

Glenn,

I've had exactly that happen. For some reason for a while when I loaded into the Arrow it would load with the trim almost to the nose-down stop. As you say a take-off roll gets really interesting if you don't re-center the trim before starting the takeoff.

i am not planning on using MSFS for IFR/Jets anyway before a new 2022 PC and offcause the PMDG 737 NG3.😄

In the time between  i am all over MSFS in the default GA and its fairly a good experience on my medium PC.

But  i am used to also A2A Comanche 250 in P3D so which GA should i pick up right now ?

PA-28 comes both as a turbo and none turbo ? also as a bundle of both ?

Thanks

The JF Arrows and Warrior are about as good as GA aircraft get in MSFS at the moment and I suspect are unlikely to be bettered before Milviz release their Cessna 310 or A2A their Commanche.

If you are only going to buy one of the Arrows I would go for the Turbo Arrow since your get two distinct variants plus the higher performance at altitude but if you buy from the Just Flight store them buying the non-Turbo arrow first gives you a coffee to get 66% (I think) of the  Turbo versions and buying the two this way is cheaper than the official bundle.

Am I the only one getting a serious slide / shift / weathervane on takeoff, right before liftoff? Even with 1 knot on the nose, no crosswind, it will suddenly slide hard to one side right before liftoff.

I'm flying the Turbo Arrow, not sure if it's the same with the others.

I still can't choose which one of these. Don't need all three 🙂

Well if you had a choice of any Piper it probably would be a Comanche - or maybe a Cheyenne 😄

In terms of Just Flight PA28 Cherokee there are currently four altogether.

I fly the Warrior II the most followed by the Turbo Arrow III.  The standard Arrow III comes in third for me and I rarely fly the Turbo Arrow IV at all.   However many people just fly the Turbo Arrow IV, my least favourite, so go figure.

Have you seen this thread ?

I finally gave in and bought the Warrior this morning and have now uninstalled the standard Arrow but will keep the Turbo pair. The Warrior is so much nicer to fly and to land especially that it will be my default aircraft now. I'm really surprised by how different it feels.

Yes it is not really the same aircraft at all. It tends to be most first choice if I am not doing a long flight.

Currently flying from Khabarovsk to Vladivostok VFR following the Chinese border though so in the Turbo Arrow III at present 😄

I have noticed that the trim settings are no longer reset after the last patch if I use the saving state option, so I press "Ready for take off" before I manually turn off the aircraft to cold and dark, that will make all trim settings to reset to normal, what I would like to know is if there exist a command to reset trim? I have not found it.

I did the same thing, I use the Warrior for low altitude flights and the Turbo for + 6000 feet, but the Warrior are my absolute favorite.

Nice. I went ahead and bought the Warrior last night and put a little over two hours on it so far.

Some hints on the Warrior:

  • like the arrow it needs nose up trim on take off
  • The Avionics switch is a tiny toggle switch hiding between the co-pilot yoke and the fan switch in the same area as the air controls.. From the pilot position you cannot actually see it as it is hiding right against the co-pilot yoke

I'm having some problems with the Warrior sometimes causing the sim to stall when starting the flight and never finish loading - it's sporadic but quite frequent and I'm suspecting some kind of Mod conflict but I haven't nailed it down yet.

Doesn't seem to happen with any of the other JF planes though.
