Found THE major source of CTDs...

Featured Replies

I'll cut to the chase...

DELETE the G1000 NXi mod that you have installed in your Content Manager. This is causing CTDs in any airplanes using the G1000.

I have tested many planes that use this and also do not use this. Every single plane using a G1000 (which would use this mod if you installed it) crashes. Some take a little longer. Some cause a CTD on the first attempt to fly. I imagine the more complex airplanes crash faster, while something like the Cessna 172 (with the G1000) takes a little more work to get a CTD. All non G1000 airplanes in my hangar do not crash.

I removed this mod and now all of the G1000 planes work without crashing.

Btw, my stability test was to select the planes one at a time, note whether they had the G1000 or not, then on the world map select Heathrow to Paris, then if it loads, reload the same flight, then load Heathrow to Hamburg. If that doesn’t crash, load Denver to Los Angeles. None of the G1000 planes survived that test and every other plane did. Reran the same test after deleting the G1000 NXi mod, and all the G1000 planes pass the test.

Been doing more testing and so far all the planes that were crashing are no longer having issues. Seems really solid so far.

Funny I was just going to post about the same issue. I had this too.

Thanks for helping, really loving this sim right now. Had a few awesome flights now in the A32NX (Runs incredibly now) currently buzzing around Southern Ontario in the TBM

Happy Days 🙂

It will only crash if you have the WT G1000 enabled. be sure it is disabled.

I have the NXi and have not had a single CTD since SU5.

How do you enable/disable the WT G1000?

What do you have plugged in via USB?

Simply not true.  I have a completely clean Community folder and when I DL the NXi, it flies fine the first flight, each subsequent attempt CTD while loading into the AP.  Restarting SIM and Windows does not fix it.  The ONLY fix is to delete the NXi.  It is awesome and when WT get the kinks worked out it will be my default.

You guys are saying it's surely causing YOUR CTDs.  It's not causing any for me.

Oh I assumed you had it installed via Community folder.  If you've never heard of it you probably don't.

So the WT G1000 is currently fubar?

That's great news, but do not tell people that it only caused CTD if the WT G1000 is active too.  If both ARE active I am sure it will conflict, BUT NXi still causes CTD even without the WT G1000,

I have no CTD if the NXi is not installed.

You are confusing people.

No it is NOT.  The only issue with it at the moment is the range rotary does not work.  The WT G1000 does not seem to be causing any CTD problems by itself.

Edited by Blueline308

The WT G1000 NXi causes issues with the modded DA62 on my end.  What's a problem is the regular WT G1000 under SU5 will not allow range adjustments on the ND screen.  The default G1000 won't follow the course downloaded from the default flight planner.  All options we have for the  G1000 is all screwed up after SU5 (including both hotfixes).

Nope, not in my community folder. Ryan, maybe test this scenario. Select the Caravan. On the world map setup a flight from Heathrow to Hamburg. When it loads successfully, start the flight and let the plane takeoff. Then go back to the main menu and create a flight from Heathrow to Paris. Let that flight load. Then go back to the main menu and create a flight from denver to Los Angeles. Let us know if you get a CTD while doing this. This is with the NXi installed.

Thanks.
