For some reason be it the default 747 or the Salty mod, the FMC doesn't respond to any clicks. Not sure what is wrong...it's driving me nuts...once it worked after I went away from the pc for a while and got back then it was working.

Any suggestions??

Hi, it's probably due to a faulty mod.

Does this mode optimize 747 in the level of WTITLE CJ4 ? So we can fly realistic long hauls ?

Kind regards.

I've done several long haul flights with the Salty 747 mod. The problem you'll run into is the sim itself has some degradation issues. Several of my flights have been met with these issues. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/decreasing-performance-throughout-long-flights-since-su5/441568

Otherwise, it's totally flyable on long hauls.

Thanks for the explanation. I will give it a try. Kind regards.

I have to say that I decided to change things up a bit last week and started flying the latest Salty 747. It definitely has most of the LNAV capabilities of the CJ4 and I was quite impressed. I've flown about 10 flights in the 748 over the last week and have really enjoyed them. Great work by that team!

With all the recent talk about how the FBW A320NX no longer has USR waypoints, its worth saying out loud that neither the Salty 747 nor the Heavy Division 787 (both of which make use of the WT CJ4 flight plan manager and lnav director) have USR waypoints either. So now we have the 787, 747, CJ4, A320NX and the G1000NXi all without USR waypoints using some form of improved flight plan management. That's quite a few good choices for those of us that are nitpicky about our flight plans 🙂

I was flying the B747 Salty mod V 0,40 and couldnt syncronize the FMC with the MSFS World flight plans, as the  FP SYNC on/off option was not present at the FMC.- Somebody told me to use the Salty dev mode, and then it was fixed.

So I want to have more information about the diferences between both mods, and a confirmation about the dev mode being unstable.-

Thanks

Funny tried the 787 the other day for first time, and really liked it as well

You allways should use the newest Dev Version, that is the best choice IMO..

cheers 😉

I thought it was worth a quick shout out to the Salty team. The latest dev release now has VNAV brought in from the CJ4. They're still working out a few bugs, but I tried it out yesterday and indeed with VNAV engaged the plane started a descent at the TOD and followed the constraints down to the approach. Was a really nice flight and worth checking out if you haven't already.

You can get the latest development build here: https://github.com/saltysimulations/salty-747

Tried the Salty 0.40 747-8 mod today for the first time as downloaded from flightsim.to site. The FMC won't let me enter me go to the Simbrief ID information page to enter my username and pilot ID. Can't figure it out. Anyone else run into this?

<Face-palming> Indeed yes, the answer is right there. I certainly hope I can fly better than I read or I'd never reach the destination ILS to enjoy a landing.
