Trees in SoCal lakes?

Featured Replies

Anyone else notice this it's around Riverside.  Is it realistic or a bug?

I remember when I was in high school going to Lake Elsinore and seeing all the trees and even a gas station under water. I think it's just the opposite now, water levels in California are generally way down and receding.

No not realistic at all.  Never mind the drought conditions currently. Someone made a fix for that region and others nearby, take a look in the scenery map at flightsim.to.  No idea how well it plays with the SU5 update though.

That's how it looks on google maps. But It looks like it depends on the time of year.

Most likely because at the time it was shot with satellite it was dry and there were vegetations in there, Those are photogrammetry trees. You won't see that if you turn photogrammetry off.

I actually fixed this few days ago and removed the photogrammetry trees.

I know at leas two places that trees actually in the water, but it depends on the season. First is lake Hodges and second surround vegetation of Corona airport. Can’t tell for lake Elsinore as I usually avoid flying over it due to parachute activities

If you look up some pics of Prado Dam, you will see some vegetation in there. Whether there's water actually in there as of this moment, I have no clue. I pass by there from time to time on the 91 but never go close enough to see what's on the other side of the dam.

Seems to be accurate. Depending on the season and other conditions probably.
