NO. I'm strictly a GA flyer.

Maybe a factor. Unless LM can replicate this problem with default aircraft and scenery we’re on our own with this. I understand a further update is being tested but no clues as to what it fixes.

Yeah. At one point (maybe in 5.1?) I could consistently produce the error even with default aircraft, but no longer. It's so inconsistent that it  becomes difficult to be certain about any fix. Testing can take hours and it is seldom repeatable.

Frankly after, more than a year of v5.x I have returned to v4.5 and spent a considerable time getting it just right for consistently great experiences. I think v5 is promising but has a long way to go. I continue to keep it installed for occasional flights and testing and will keenly follow it's development. For now, though I am really enjoying v4.5 and all of my favorite addons for my regular flights.

@JesC, I uninstalled v4.5 a few months back. It’s v5.x or bust for me now.

Once I got mine sorted (add-ons etc.), it has been stable for quite a while. One DXGI which I'm sure was just due to pushing too hard. Nothing since turning things down a tad.

What things did you turn down?  My settings are moderate and allow 30fps at most airports with the GPU running around 50-60%. Hardly taxing.

All my DXGI_DEVICE_HUNG errors have been when airborne. Never at complex airports. Work that one out!

Mine also was in the air but on approach to an airport (can't remember which). I turned scenery complexity and radius down. With your rig that should not be the problem.

Thanks Ian. My settings are reasonable. Another test flight tomorrow.

TdrLevel = 0 and I had the error once again.  I have read that some people have success by reducing the max clock of the card by 10%.  So my card is an EVGA 1080Ti SC2.  I read on the EVGA site that this card has a base clock of 1556 MHz and a boost of 1670 MHz.  Interestingly, using the EVGA Percision app, it shows a boost clock of 1962 MHz....trust me I have never overclocked this card.  Is this normal for this card?  I used the Precision program to try and reduce the clock speed by 5% and it basically does nothing.  Not really sure where to proceed with card adjustments or if this is even worth while.  I built the computer in 2017 and did not have this error until P3D 5.0 was installed.

Have you changed in Nvidia Control Panel the power management mode setting to "Prefer Maximum Performance"? That solved my problems.

@MarkW, that’s disappointing to hear. I was hopeful this fix would solve things.

But as @pgde says, do you have Prefer Max Performance? I do so wonder if this plus the Registry setting might be the right combo.

Ive no idea about GPU clock speeds, sorry. Whilst I’ve used Asus AI Suite 3 to overclock my CPU I have no idea if that impacts on the GPU speed.

Try changing that setting in NCP and keep buggering on. 👍😉

@pgde, was it just that setting or the Registry fix too?

Mark, I see you have 'Prefer Maximum Performance' - same as me. I'm currently enroute from Rome to Istanbul. 40 mins in and no problems.

How long into your flight did the problem appear? Route?

EGLL - LGSA. Crash happens after about 2 hours.  Flying FSL A320.

That's why I find this problem so frustrating. Assuming you have a payware EGLL and some Ai you'd expect to get any problems there at a busy airport. Not airborne with minimal load on the GPU. Around half-way in your flight by the sound of things.

I think the 1962mhz is right. I have the FTW3 and it also shows 1962mhz with Nvidia Inspector .i use Inspector to drop this by 100-150mhz and creating shortcuts to desktop for easy access.
